...all for £37?

Ahh, the 'Modern Man': another name for the skinny jeans and 'scoop neck' top wearing, man-bag holding, fake tan wearing, under-the-thumb pathetic excuse for 'men' that all need their balls re-attached.

actually laughing out loud

loads of testosterone fail

Nah they good in London about an hour normally.

Granted the AA and not RAC, but I'm just down the road from you and had to wait 4 and a half hours for them to come out on Wednesday evening (called at 19:30, was told at the latest 21:10, arrived just before midnight)

To be fair, it was at home and not on the road, but still !

(car had a random electrical fit, turned out the battery was on the way out, original battery from new)

I had to call the AA out once to change a wheel, felt like a right idiot! I'd only had the car a couple days and had a puncture, went to get the jack out of the boot and there wasn't one, was stranded on the Wirral without a jack!

Fortunately the last times iv called them out have been in the city near my office and they have been there within the hour.

Surely, even the most unpractical of people, can manage undoing 4 or 5 bolts and operating a jack, without getting stressed or injuring themselves?

It's probably more challenging to do up your shoelaces.

Try telling that to the muppets at F1 Autocentres in Harrow.

Im not offering you a review of the services you offer, I am simply offering you facts, including a picture. I shall get in touch with you and see how much investigation and pride you take in your service.

The irony is, but posting here with the name, email address and phone number, F1 Autocentres are probably just drawing more potential customers to this thread.

More customers who know who to contact to complain about their service. Any potential customers having read the thread probably wouldn't go there in my opinion.

Yeah, just can't imagine 19" alloys on 3 of the wheels and some uber thin space saver on the other.

I'm going to get a pic the next time one comes in.

Really it is quite funnily. The fact that they are painted bright red doesn't them no favours either

OP you have my sympathys!

I too have suffered at the hands of F1 Autocenter "technicians". I popped down and asked them to fit me a new exhaust. On removal of the old exhaust they'd removed the mid section hangers from the rubbers and so the entire exhaust from flexipipe at front of car to the 2 backboxes was being supported by just the backbox rubbers.

Would anyone like to guess what happened once the chimp blow torched off the last bolt (and ultimately the final support holding the entire exhaust onto the car?)...yep thats right, the 6foot long mid pipe fell 6 foot to the floor with a rather large bang! In the process it mullered the cat sensor, ripping out all of the cables and probably seriously shorted the life of the downpipe/flexi as it was over flexed at about a 45 degree angle!

Anyway, they fitted my new exhaust and had me back the next weekend to fit the replacement sensor (obviously this was FOC). But the wasted time, inconvenience and generally crappy experience means F1 Autocenters are on my blacklist along with Kwik Fit (as they should be with any person who actually has a clue)

This morning I went to Calthorpe Tyres, Dan got the locking wheel nuts off with no problem using a manual wrench. I have four new Contis on the car now.

Mr Leon Glencross has an email waiting for him.

In F1 Autocentres defence, after a very bad experience with Krap Fit, I used their Newcastle-under-Lyme branch to sort out a loose heat shield on my old e38 7 Series, not only did they fix the problem with no charge they replaced a missing wheel weight, again, no charge.

Subsequently, I have used them again & being happy with the service, have happily advised others to use them.

Large national chains = good & bad, I dare say Krap Fit are no different.

Just had a phone call from Mr Leon Glencross about 30 minutes ago. He sounded like a top guy. He first apologised that his men were responsible for the broken wheel locking key and that he would refund me the full cost. He also said that there was to be an internal investigation as to why the event occurred in the first place.

As a gesture of goodwill he is also sending me some vouchers so that I try them again.

Seems like an excellent outcome. Looking forward to the cheque :-)
