Jenson performed brilliantly under the conditions. Granted Alonso and MS had their problems, but that shouldnt detract from the fast laps Jenson put in to match Alonso in the middle of the race.
Also, the car looks like its performing well since it did qualify 4th, but had to drop 10 places for an engine change.

Interesting perspective looking at the 7 driving mistakes I counted M Schum making during today's race....

Be fair - the Bridgestones were dire today, Massa was all over the place as well.

Let's not pretend Button is anything special just because he's British :) I'm sorry if I'm a dissenting voice but I don't rate the bloke and his record isn't anything to be proud of is it.

It sounds like he was so much quicker today and had more grip due to his superior tyres.

he should have had a 10sec stop go penalty for crossing the chicane. But as he went out, I don't know.

You are entitled to your opinion, however, lets remember that most of the rest of the field were also on the same tyres....

Yes, i've already said tyres played a part, but lets not forget that most of the rest of the pack were also on Michelin's and they didn't win ;)

we haven't seen him in a championship car yet. Also most of the field is on the exact same tyre.
 
FFS the guy's had his detractors for years. He wins a race down to him driving better than the other drivers on the day, but it's the fact that Alonso and Schumacher went out that allows him to win. Oh wait, it wasn't, so his better driving has to be put purely down to better tyres and strategy. Come on, just accept he was the best driver today and didn't make mistakes when the others did. I dont think anyone really believes when at their very best he's as good as Schumacher and Alonso but give the guy credit for driving superbly and beating them.

Im chuffed to bits that he won but the above statement says it all for me also!..
 
Oh come on..he won from 14th on the grid in less than ideal conditions.
He was lapping way faster than Schuie and would surely have beaten Alonso based on how fast he was catching.. I can't believe theres people taking away a brilliant achievement.

Regards the Schumacher incident, looked to me as if he slowed to let DLR pass but when DLR dithered he thought "oh ffs" and carried on. Was debateable I spose but all moot in the end. What I can't get my head round is why Schumacher was trying so hard to stop others passing him. I could see for laps beforehand that it was all going to end in tears and so it did. Some points are better than none Michael, especially with Alonso out. Missed opportunity there.

And WILL SOMEONE PLEASE ******* SHOOT JAMES-THE-*******-ALLEN!!!

This guy is a total moron. At least when Murray screwed things up he did it with some charm and laughed at himself when he was put right. Allen screws it up all the time and never admits he's wrong or corrects himself. Today's classic was him and Anthony going the entire race thinking Schumacher was on full wets during the first stint. What a pair of total n00bs.

Whilst I'm ranting, another brilliant showing by the ITV ad-break-placement-squad :rolleyes: First break we miss Schumacher losing his front wing then the second one we miss the Raikonnen-Liuzzi shunt. Ok I know they couldn't have known these things would happen beforehand but it just annoys me and demonstrates why F1 should be back on BBC2 where it belongs. Love the way they pepper F1 with ad breaks but wouldn't dare put one in the middle of a football game!

No offence but i dont think you can comment negatively on Jensons achievement without having seen it.

For the record he had a very good race and the win was well deserved whether it was partly down to better tyres, strategy or luck, god knows its his turn to get some.
 
just want to say well done to Jenson Button, after all that had happened to him over the weekend like his engine giving up on friday practice and suffering a 10 place drop becuase of it i think he did really well.

i also think that schumacher and alonso should have got sterner penalties, if jenson had to go back 10 places due to engine failure they should have got worse for dangerous driving!!!!!
 
With regards to Schmacher's penalty, I hadn't actually seen the footage until today. Now I have it's blatantly obvious that Alonso deliberately hit the brakes so that Schumacher would inadvertently pass. Disgusting behaviour tbh and certainly qualifies as "cheating" to the same extent as Rascasse-gate, IMO.

Regardless, there's no way Schmachers coasting past the other cars during the red flags can be compared to Alonso brake-testing Dornbos.
 
Absolutely. Dirty on Alonso's part, but the FIA won't punish him. If schumacher did it, no doubt they would all shout "CHEATER SCHUMACHER" etc etc and penalise him

Agreed this does look like a dirty move from Alonso which I find quite worrying.

However, in regard to people jumping on Schumacher when he does things, its because of the frequency he plays dirty. Time & time again he has cheated.
