F1 race night?

yes I'll happily be the 'moving chicane' for some races later...

was supposed to order my new PC components for last friday and hopefully get that sorted this week, playing on a c2d 2.6ghz and 10-15fps sucks the proverbials !

I might be able to get into 1:11, but not much more unless I spend a lot of time on setup and working out how much corner I can cut.

Current TT best is 1:10.4 so I'm way off still

Look on the leaderboard because last time i looked i was 2nd with a 1.10.7, name is rc10racer btw.

I thought that name was familiar. I'm way down the list with a 1.12.8's

I'd like to join in tonight too, I'm pretty crap but hey, it's all good fun. Who's GFWL should I add?

Add unKn0wn009 or log1k uk. One of us will send invites out.

I'll be probably hosting it. full collisions, 20%, tyre and fuel sim, all aids off.. Ready for rocking!

make up the racing line? that's always fun :D

:)

I'm not trying to come in and change the rules or anything, I just wondered if we were having it on or not. I don't mind playing with everything else off, I just thought that when people like me who only know a handful of tracks have the racing line disabled then it's hard to tell where the braking points are until you've driven the track a decent amount of times.

Don't we get the option of having the racing line? Not very fair on the people that aren't F1 mad if they can't even compete.

whilst it is a handy tool to have, learning the tracks by just hammering out lap after lap will benefit you more in the long run. Finding the correct breaking point and gear through repetition helps you bring down your laptimes, the suggested line sometimes has your breaking point far too early and can really throw you off.

I would also suggest we stick with Montreal for the time being so newer players can also get to grips on that track, everyone can practice it in their own time and the actual race would benefit from closer performances... maybe :p

things like race lines are fine imho.. I won't ever use one, but that's just me. I can honestly say I don't feel there is an advantage on having it.

Yes, you'll know where CM want you to brake, but if I'm blocking the inside on your overtake, what then :D - I'd like to add, that probably won't happen as I'm too slow. But I love racing so heh.

Aids I'm fine with: Racing line, Pit controls...

:D

Sticking with Montreal would be a good idea, we would all eventually end up at a similar pace, which will be fun :D

The reason I use the racing line on unfamiliar tracks is so that I get a bit of a better idea on how sharp the corner is before I go into it. I know Montreal fairly well though so there shouldn't be a problem there. :)

This is going to be a blast! Is anybody up for a few time trial practice laps in about 30 minutes time?
