Yep, makes sense to test cars in a proven/known track to start off with. Jerez (for example) has been used for yonks in terms of testing. Kinda a shame the Spanish GP isn't there, much better track than Barcelona imo.
I must say I would prefer they did ALL testing on non GP tracks. Barcalona is ruined by the fact every team and driver have done 1 gazillion miles round it already. Plus, it would allow them to go to a number of areas where F1 wouldnt normally go, and allow a number of new fans to see the cars.
Aye, definitely going up on one of the last Jerez day tests (17th/18th/19th) with Alex53 who posts here and is a dab hand at photography - which I aint.
Just going to hold off and see which day will be best attended (team-wise). Last year we tried sneaking round the ciruit in order to get a better view, Jerez was being renovated (stands-wise) for Moto GP iirc. Should be done now, though they have a tendency of only opening stands up for testing depending on how many people attend. Still, was only 5 euros each for the day. Anyone else thinking of heading down? Im guessing flights to Jerez will be relatively cheap from the UK.
