Flibster, it's only a small part McLaren are putting on the car, not the whole ERS. Its a seal or casing or something, from reading around.

Yep just the seal - they are using their own until Honda get a working solution.

Hamilton just done a few laps at 1m26.437s on hard tires. I bet that's making them all sit up.
After 10 laps he did a 1m25.976s. looking good for Merc. Button has done two out laps.

Hamilton has changed to mediums and does a 1m24.881. 2 seconds clear of everyone else.

* Lewis Hamilton sets the pace with a 1m24.881 on the medium tyres in the Mercedes.
* Daniil Kvyat causes the first red flag of the day when he stops at the pitlane exit.
* Carlos Sainz, Romain Grosjean and Jenson Button have yet to set a lap time.

not sure if this has been mentioned but when alonso woke up he thought he was still driving go karts and wants to become an F1 driver in the future

Apparently it's fairly common when someone gets a severe concussion. It's more interesting Ron Dennis said there was no concussion on the day after when clearly there had been.

To show how absurd all of these reports are, 2 days ago it was "reported" that he still thought he was a Ferrari driver.

They're just plucking ******** out of thin air.

That sounds like a fairly normal thing to say if he has had a serious concussion and is entirely consistent with him being advised not to drive in Australia.
