I have a feeling he might be..

Thanks ;)

I only asked as there seems to be a few people with experiance of these tests here so maybe they would know if they've been before. But I guess not, I'll see what they say tomorrow..

They don't tend to be too specific about times or who will be there on what day. From memory they start at about 9am, break for lunch and then go on again until 4ish but this may have changed since I last went (It was free then as well)

Nick.. how did you get into F1 engineering (ok, aerodynamics, but similar stuff I assume.)

Did you go striaght from University, or did you have previous experience(chartered status etc?).

Are there many opportunities for new grads in the engineering side of many teams?

I went straight from university - I studied Aero Engineering at Imperial College.

There are a surprising number of opportunities for fresh engineering grads in F1 teams. Renault has taken in 8 grads in the past 18 months in the Aero department alone.

Keep an eye out on http://www.autosport.com/directory/appointments.html

picked this up from work today :D

Didn't see anyone poncing around with one of those passes though :p

Do you know what drivers were there today?

The PA is completely useless.

Just applied :) F1 teams advertise job vacancies mostly through Autosport.

Obviously you need an aeronautical engineering degree or similar.

It were great! I took over 200 odd pictures, will try and upload them when i have the chance! It didn't seem that sunny a day, what with the clouds and wind and midday rain but somehow my face is as red as a badger now!

Yeah was good day :) You forget just how insanely loud and quick F1 cars are until you see them in real life.

Editing video, which I'll get up tomorrow hopefully.

had a good time, got there late.... just intime for lunch break...LOL...

reason? A lorry driver driving in the 3rd lane (56mph!!) almost all the way there... Not to mention a group of lorries cars refusing to under take him.. DAM the M1 to hell!

isnt it illegal for lorrys to be in the 3rd lane?

Your not the only one, got back for some tea and my face is red as anything.

Anyone else think it was a bit of a con that you couldnt go around 2/3rd of the track to watch and were limited as to where you could go?

Someone tried to steal a BMW or something also, were sat over by the bridge after lunch about 2pm when he boots it over the bridge really tanking it locks up, then people are shouting to shut the gate and block roads off!
