F15 X5 Replacement

What is the cost of capital for raising 60k? What is your projected residual value for this car? What level of certainty do you have regarding this residual value?

Almost like it isn't as simple as just doubling the budget to save money. Plus it isn't even the type of car he has asked for.

It's Ok I'll stick with TheFoxWay™ and we'll just go on in blissful ignorance.

If you have to ask... a fast SUV vs a fast SUV that hold lots of people and stuff, nope completely different cars.

Anyway, thanks for the light entertainment, we'll leave motors to you eh foxy, since you are the know it all.

What do you find funny exactly? With the :p on every post? Is there something you don't understand you'd like help with but are afraid to ask?

<snip key stage 3 definition of TCO>

Anything you like some help with understanding? :)
lol, no need to be salty at me because you said something silly.

Any advice or other cars I've missed would be appreciated.

@panthro I just want to apologise for taking your request literally, apparently motors can't handle having actual questions answered even if they didn't fit the exact requirements, but offered an alternate viewpoint. Bowing out of here due to the toxicity of the few who think they own the place.

Good luck in find you new vehicle! :)

Op, Journey is right. We should be taking it seriously.

Have you considered this?

If you factor in selling your house the TCO is fabulous.

I'm not a Tesla fan and I'm going to hold off buying full electric until I have no other option. Appreciate all the suggestions though, and I'm leaning towards keeping the X5 or changing it for a Cayenne S Hybrid as the electric short range would come in very handy. No plans to PCP but just a personal loan. I have roughly 2/3 of the value of the X5 in equity.
I am trying to justify this to myself but don't actually need to change!

Just going back to this, I am resolved to sell the X5 as 3 days before the warranty ran out it had to have the electronic handbrake replaced and both front driveshafts. Would hate to think what that would cost me out of warranty.
My choice has changed slightly too as I'm considering a 2016/17 RX450h F Sport. Always had a soft spot for them and the standard spec is excellent.

If you can put up with the subjective looks is a BMW 640i or 630d GT worth a look? Not strictly SUV type car I know but it does have a higher seating position than the equivalent 5 series. I've been looking at a replacement car for my Golf for my growing family considered a 530d touring but they don't represent great value. The 6 GT is better equipped as standard and can be had from around 25-30k. I think the boot on the 6 GT is even bigger than the 5 series touring.

Sorry but this is absolute rubbish. You have recommended a car completely out of budget just because your are a strong EV advocate. Then when challenged to show the TCO you didnt show a worked example and instead accused the place of being 'toxic' (you been watching too many streamers?)

Drove an M3 Competition last week just to satiate my curiosity on whether or not I could live with one; came away completely disappointed. Speed and handling aside, the build quality was terrible compared to my X5, which I was fully expecting but not to the level I experienced. It was an 18 plate with 30k miles; the number of squeaks and rattles on the interior were almost as unbearable as the road noise.
I then went to look at a C63S Estate, which seemingly blew the M3 out the water interior wise, performance wise and sound wise, but also suffered with a huge number of interior rattles.

I wager PCP 'mathematics' :p

Annnnnd you've just lost your life savings. I'd stick to your day job ;)

Be interested to hear what you think of the Lexus.

I like the way they go about their business without a fuss and the 'Japaneseness'. They always looked a little small in comparison to the tank like X5.
