FA Cup 2010 **SPOILERS**

Danns is indeed good, scores quite a few iirc. Made us look silly at times, maybe he could shine in Moses' place.

If Elmander could get his backside in gear for Bolton and score a few, I think they'll be half-decent. Definately won't go down imo.

Lee's been superb for them lately, and was pretty impressive again today.

Didn't really want a replay but glad not to bow out to a lower club, though to be fair Palace deserved more than a draw today. Officials in general were dreadful, giving wrong decisions against both sides.

yeah they have come on leaps on bounds. Playing in the uefa cup aad regualy getting into the top 10 was so poor for them.:D:D

I bloody knew we would get chelsea. I fancy to us to beat anyone at home but not a chance at the bridge

Fat sam got them into a top 10 team that qualified for the UEFA cup.

Right now there are only better than about 5 teams

Coyle has been in charge for 5 minutes, Allardyce about 5 years. Everyone know the rubbish football that was played, route one into the box. No one said they we're doing any better, but they are playing a lot better football.

... Right... and thats got what to do with the previous quote? I said Lee had a good game, not "Bolton are crap, send them down, can't hit a barn door with a banjo", or anything to do with what they were like 3-4 years ago. I'm talking about NOW, they're right in the thick of a relegation battle but I said they're going to stay up, if they can find someone to grab them some goals .

yea i know that but you said they have come on leaps and bounds but they havent.

Just ignore me just being picky. I reckon there fans would prefer top 10 and Uefa cup rather than carpet football and bottom 8

I think Uefa is quite far beyond them. The Premier League's essentially 3 brackets - "Big 4", "Best of the rest" (Spurs/City/Villa/Everton?), and "the rest". I can't see Bolton really doing much better than scraping into the top 10, unless there are big changes, but I think they're good enough to stay up. Their fans should be happy if they do stay up tbh.

D'oh :)

Didnt see the whole match but CP were playing brilliantly, and pretty unlucky wiht that corner to concede the 2nd goal, as a Man Utd fan Im really glad Villa have a replay a few days before the final :D

Villa will play a considerably weakened team for the replay. Why risk the final just so you can reach a quarter-final?

Look what happened to Arsenal a few weeks ago when they did that for a different competition......(a string of bad results/losses after a good long run of straight wins)

plus AV are expected to win the FA Cup (replay) at home, yet CP put up a decent fight against AV's first team, so it would be a huge risk expecting a weakened team in (arguably) a more important competition getting required result....

Also if AV do lose (with weakened team or not), it still affects team /squad morale for the final -with little time to recover mentally more than anything

Reading / West Brom could arguably be a gift for either CP or AV to get to the Semi (and even more TV revenue/gate reciepts)

Also in essence AV are away at Wembley (although I believe they are the "home" team) compared to the home game in the FA Cup replay

All the above may make **** load of difference to either result - who knows at this point, but they all have to be taken into account surely?

Theres other games for Villa to rest their players in, and very little chance of getting 4th spot in the league it would be madness to throw away the FA Cup, especially with so many teams missing, when the final they are in is no easy game.

IF Wenger didn't field stupid teams to rest for a bunch of games we were always going to do badly in, we might have a shot at silverware this season.

I don't know why some managers just tire out their team they feel forced into making changes to rest people when the schedual gets a bit more difficult. IF some of those players were more rested going into a key game, they'd be less tired for a busier schedual after it. IE rest players when you can quite easily rather than wait for them to be tired and find yourself in a difficult schedual.

Villa for me have a FAR higher chance at one cup win than 4th in the league, they are hardly going to forfeit european places if they rest players in the league so that seems the obvious choice.

Bolton have improved already imo. Really like Lee, he's got good feet and is rapid. Coyle will probably buy a few in the summer and make them into a decent team, I like what he gets from his teams.

We won at home in the FA Cup against Blackburn and Brighton with weakened teams, so we shouldn't have that much trouble against Palace.

you are saying that after the other day with a totally straight face!!! give credit where its due, its not as though AV were playing badly, but CP where a match for you all over the park

I wouldnt presume too much if I were you

I would suggest that the team mechanics of CP are much better than Blackburn to start with - not sure about Brighton as I havent seen them recently

Just because Man Utd beat Arsenal away, has no reflection on whether they can beat you away (which we didnt) or Everton away (no one knows yet), Football just doesnt work that way AT ALL

Home games are a lot different to away games. They aren't going to have 20,000+ roaring them on this time, and we're a lot better at home this season than last. It's not that I'm giving Palace little credit, I've admitted we didn't even deserve a draw and we were VERY fortunate to escape with a replay, so you can scrap that.
