Congrats to Wigan. Completely outplayed us for 100% of the game. Embarrassing from us.

Either the players are sick of Mancini and now they know he's possibly gone they just want to confirm they don't want to play for him or it was another bad day at the office.

Mancini must know he is gone now. He didn't seem interested the full game until Wigan scored and then he jumped up and tried to rally the players.

Bloody Wigan and their end of season switch of turning it on against teams.

.

Either one of these from the players is pretty atrocious excuse

Whoever the manager is going to be, its still a chance to win a major cup. They should know how infrequently it happens so should cherish every chance.

Well exactly that's just how it felt as there was no drive, passion or anything basically.

As I said it might just have been a bad day at the office. It happens but it was almost that bad it felt like it was on purpose.

Why aren't people doing pictures of Mancini smiling, happy as anything, with text along the lines of "that was just the performance I needed to get paid £30mil to take early retirement, job done".

He's been doing absurd things all season, "I know without practicing 3-5-2, I'll just play it, then blame the players for screwing up. THe transfer window is about to close, I'll throw my toys out the pram by playing every POS player I have so my bosses throw money at me, then I'll buy a ridiculous mix of players I don't need".

Its like he's been trying to get fired all season. Publically blaming your bosses because players CHOSE not to join City because they prefer other clubs, while having a go at your bosses not spending enough while buying all the crap players you want them to, its a joke. Playing Barry almost every game when he's an inept moron, there is no one else to blame.

well that was a good first interview for the Everton role by Martinez

I don't know, you still have to question why he still fails so miserably in the league. If Wigan are good enough to win the FA Cup then why are they third bottom of the league?

Because the team costs something like 40mil a year in wages, City spend £180mil, simple as that. City get an injury, they put another 20mil player in the starting line up, Wigan do, they put a free transfer who is a bit crap.

More to the point, its been half a mil difference per place you finish in the league, to come much higher up the table would cost 20-30mil in wages, but there really isn't 20-30mil in extra income from doing so.

they don't have the squad size or quality to put in sustained great performances, as such, when a team knows they can't come much higher than 18th, you get a motivation problem, where they only try when its really important.

ultimately a team with a small squad and a severe drop off in quality with back up/rotation/youth players, can't compete well in the league, thats football, money talks.

there are absurd teams like Villa, QPR, to a degree Sunderland, Villa had a high spending regime and used to compete in the top 7, QPR are just a joke, a complete joke, Sunderland have overspent and constantly sign players. Wigan run on a phenomenally small budget, and they consistently spend less than the vast majority of the league and teams spending twice as much on wages have been relegated multiple times. You need to spend more to be higher in the table, but spending more doesn't make it certain, you can spend badly, very easily. Blackburn, Bolton, QPR wage bills are a joke, Newcastle and West Ham went down spending similar amounts, 60-80mil a year for those guys at various points.

Wigan spend an amount that most managers and most squads with that kind of spending WOULD get relegated. People just don't seem to get, Martinez has one of the best value teams achieving more than most managers would with similar spending.

Wigan's finally made a small £5mil profit before interest/tax and other stuff last year, but a loss of £7mil after that.

Biggest problem for Wigan is support/stadium/ticket/sponsorship income, such low attendances, means all those bring in very little and they are mostly about the TV money, if they can survive a year as such the tv money increasing by sucha large amount should help Wigan more than basically any other club.

If they go down, they can be proud to have stayed up for so long on such a tiny budget.

Wigan has more trophies than Arsenal (2005 :)), Liverpool and City combined this season :p

Why not add Tottenham, Chelsea unless they win the eLOLpa Cup and many other teams who havent won a trophy this season

As i said do not be surprised if Wigan beat us on Tues :( and manage to stay up for yet another season in the EPL. Im really hoping that they wont but if do get relegated, it will be strange to see a championship side in Europe next season...far as im aware Wigan will play in Europe wont they next season??.

Dunno im actually bricking it Tues night, Wigan were immense today and showed they can beat a good side albeit a good side with a useless manager lol...definitely deserved to win it especially after Tevez was subbed off, was an unbelievably stupid sub but thats Mancini all over....clueless about everything really. I mean a club with those sort of players should be putting 5-6 goals past Wigan who probably dont have a player worth more than £10mill in their squad.

Wonder if Martinez will go to Everton next season, seems like Wigans owner thinks Everton arent big enough for him:confused:...does that mean Wigan is a bigger club than Everton??.

This, Martinez has done great i have been a huge fan of him. The budget Wigan work with is just so small i dont know how they lasted 8-9 seasons in the premier league.

Neither do i in all honesty but its a tremendous achievement to manage to stay afloat in the EPL on such a tiny budget they operate on. Suppose its a bit like Fergie managing to instill a winning mentality and they go out and win the title yr in yr out. Martinez seems to do it at the end of each season, where he manages to get Wigan playing some immense football and getting results against teams that they should be losing to but in the process, staying safe for another season in the EPL.

Anyhow still hoping Wigan go down this year, only to see Whelans face when they are relegated but i suppose having the FA Cup next to you in bed should ease matters:p:D

I thought it was a fantastic cup final for a change which was probably down to Wigan having nothing to lose and actually trying to win the game instead of 2 teams just waiting for an opening.
It's always nice when the underdogs win, as long as it's not your team they beat:)
