Nice run of games we getting today. Barca-Betis on SP1 at 2100 :D

I've just watched this...my 5th live game today! Glad it did as it wasa complete footballing feast! It finished 5-1 to Barcelona but that doesn't tell the whole story.

Betis could have had 5 or 6 themselves if it wasn't for Valdez. One of Barca's goals was an own goal, one was a massive deflection and another was a poor effort from the Betis keeper.

I can still see Chelsea causing Barca plenty of problems. Robben is going to be a key player imo.

It'd be interesting to hear from supporters who actually went to the Liverpool v Man Utd match. I heard reports on talkSport radio that Liverpool fans were singing songs about broken legs whilst Smith was being treated.

Is this true. It really wouldn't surprise me.

I've heard the same, but it was a small section of fans, the majority clapped as he was stretchered off. Now I wonder if the F.A will do anything about the Liverpool fans that were throwing things at Gary Neville. If anything, they've strengthened Gary Nevilles defence.

From what I saw, they through Neville a Burger to give to Rooney, thats all. ;)

I've heard that, but I also heard that Utd fans were chanting songs last week at Lua Lua, and his kids death.

sadly all football teams will have a minority who sing things like that im 100% sure man utd fans would be singing just as bad things back its the way it goes

oh I don't doubt that for a second, but we have no history against Portsmouth or its players. Their fans were fantastic on the day of George Best's funeral. I'm surprised that's all, if it's true.

Yeah aparently their chant was

JOOOOHN ARNE RIISE, OOH AHH, I WANNA KNOOOOW, HOW YOU BROKE HIS LEG

Or at least thats what loads of idiots are posting over at redcafe :(

I was at the game and i believe it was "....i wanna know if you broke his leg"
However, it wasnt clear at the time that the injury was that bad and the crowd turned when it was obvious it was a serious injury, the whole ground clapped Smith off, which i thought was nice.

Unfortunately there always will be the idiots that sing that kind of thing.

Usually it's 'Hillsborough 89' coming from the United end to be met with 'who's that dying on the runway' or vice versa. Been going on since the beginning of time and ain't gonna change. Neither side is worse than the other it's tit for tat.

Re: previous comment about ref being born in Liverpool = Hello?? Watching the same match as everyone else?

...and better chances of silverware? I'd be happier with a shot at the Champions League and the FA cup, but then i guess you've got to console yourselves with what you can actually achieve eh?? :p

Gutted for Smith. Respect him as a player, but honestly don't think we'll be seeing him play again :(

Horrific injuries in two of the big matches yesterday.
My sympathies go out to Alan Smith and lets not forget Bialkowski (Southampton Goal keeper who was also strechered off).
I think we (Newcastle) played well, all of the reports I've been reading say we were lucky not to draw and I'll admit in the second half we didn't play our best. However, the first half showed some really inspiring football, we really were all over them and to be honest their chances in the second half weren't that dangerous.

Here's hoping its a Liverpool vs. Chelsea in the next round and we get a break for once.

First half of Dunfermline v Celtic is nearly over......Currently it's 4-1 to Celtic......Zurawski has been excellent and so has Petrov........Boruc, howler in the newspapers today and howler of a goal let in :/
