Anyone else still eat these, having then for tea tonight with some roast potatoes and veg.
Got to be Mr Brains.

Speaking to some of the younger people in work they had never heard of them, and think they sound disgusting.
Why is offal such a off putting thing for so many.

Haven't had them since I lived with my parents might pick up some for dinner tonight. With mashed potato and processed peas they were always a winner.

They probably have some fat in yes.

Googled for you. 4.8g per 100g, saturated 1.9g. So not a lot at all, certainly not FULL of fat.

If you're filling it with liver and heart etc, there's probably not much point swapping it out for feet and snouts, to be honest. It's not like you'd save much.
Pigs trotters are a fair bit more than heart and liver I have found. I genuinely find it odd how people are so repulsed by certain cuts of meat. We should be encouraged to eat the whole animal.

Or are these people that think meat comes from the supermarket. Happy to eat it if it comes in plastic packaging but if you had to butcher it yourself they would be vegetarians.

The constitution of men nowadays is not like it was. Too many of us are scared of good old fashioned foods like offal. The amount of iron in things like liver, kidneys and heart is what powered men down in the coal mines and shipyards.

They were powered by iron? Lol. No, they were powered by calories... and offal's cheaper than prime cuts.
And richer in iron.

So many people don’t understand how important iron is to the body. Around 4 million people in the U.K. have an iron deficiency. I have had an example of the difference iron makes recently and it amazed me.

I think people understand given the prevalence amongst women for obvious reasons. I'm just questioning the idea miners would have been deficient without offal/the iron fuelled them.
Their work was highly physical and they’d often be at it 10 hours a day. Without plenty of iron, their bodies would not have been able to produce the energy required for such exertion.
