Failed driving test

Driving tests are truly horrible, I failed my first one due to stopping at some traffic lights unecessarily, i didn't see that the filter left light was green. The sense of relief when you pass is immense.

I watched somebody mount the pavement on the exit of the test center while waiting for my exam, the examiner got out and walked back telling the instructor to go rescue their student on his way through the center.

There is one 3 mins drive from me, and they all come out of the same junction, the same junction where the lorries from Sun Valley Foods comes out in.

While waiting for mine I saw an examiner mount the pavement so horribly.
Felt like saying something but I didn't know who I was getting :p

That's the problem with driving tests, you have to learn how to pass the test, not how to drive if you were on your own. I got a minor on my test because the guy picked a really awful place for my reverse around a corner and made me block the road. As soon as I was straight, I went to move off because there were cars queuing up behind me, but he gave me a funny look so I asked and he insisted that I go further back. At least I passed though.

Women cant drive, dont even bother making excuses ok.

A lot can depend on the examiner you have. Mine made me do a turn in the road on a country lane, and as I was practically perpendicular to the road a van approached and stopped. I was blocking the entire road so finished the turn in a textbook manner and made my way off.

I got a minor for 'not waiting to see what the van was going to do'. Well he was either going to sit and wait, or ram me off the road. Still passed, but I got minors for other really odd things too. Two for 'not exiting the roundabout early enough', which is an accomplishment considering I didn't actually miss the exits.

How is that a fail? I was taught to acknowledge people allowing me out of junctions with a wave. So long as they signalled me out by hand , and not with the lights. And did so in my test.

Tip #365674:
When you're on holiday in the lakes, and you stop on a blind bend, don't bother waving cars behind past, you can't see it's safe and there is always a car coming the other way.
Extra "you suck" points if the reason you pulled over in the 1st place was to let them past. Choose a sensible place to stop.
And all the "you suck" points in the free world If you could see the car coming the other way but waved me pas anyway. I've seen it all, Went nuts on the last one mentioned.

was your instructor female?

Suppose it boils down to the examiner you get, some are more relaxed and dont worship the book of rules, others are so strict they may as well have a metre stick up their ass.

Find it amusing they can fail you for things like that yet they probably do it every other day, just some of them don't even take common sense into consideration. Ive my test in about 12 days and ive heard plenty of horror stories about people failing for really stupid things. :(

I've got my bike test on monday even though I had to cancel my last lesson cause I was ill :( I'm a bit worried tbh

I failed for something really small.....

My third try i had the chief examiner (who failed me 1st) and some new examiner, i hated it, but got through it and got a pass. It is immense feeling tho i agree.

I've got my test in a couple of weeks so me and my instructor are doing some mock tests atm. I managed to fail my first one by overtaking a bus when it had stopped to let another bus through a narrow gap between parked cars, I thought it was stopping to let some passengers off! By the time I saw the other bus it was too late, I had to reverse all the way back to let it through - very messy :p

You didn't know that you're not meant to signal pedestrians?

I have my test in a few days, I'm bricking it.

I had to miss my last lesson too, I spent the first 15 min of my lesson with my head down the toilet vomiting so my mum went and told my instructor that I wasn't having my lesson.

On the upside I ran a red light and passed ;) Its not all bad :D

I failed one of my tests because I didnt give way on a mini roundabout, which seems fair, but the circumstances were that the other car was an old codger, who was just sat there for no reason, so I thought "sod it" and carried on my way

And failed another one for failing to give way again, narrow street with cars parked all the way down it, the oncomming car had right of way, but he stopped and flashed me through and I went.

You just cant win sometimes.
