Failure of the Year

Perrin was a good shout up there somewhere ^^^^

I would also like to add Luque to the list, but other than that i agree with Nok

Why is Luque the biggest failure of the year? He's had a major injury and barely had a good run in the first team. There's been plenty of players worse than Luque in the Premier League.

As for answering the OP's question, sporting failure of the year would be Ian Millward or Wigan RL :p and football wise I think Souness would be a worthy candidate.

Edit- Just thought it has to be Sunderland really, worst points total ever in the Premiership is pretty bad. :p

I wouldn't say SWP was a failure.. although a let down as he went to chelsea..

I can't see him doing much more for Chelsea in the future tbh, and I don't really see a spot for him in Arsenal, although I'd love him to go there.

Souness for me :p

Although to nominate another.. Heskey..

What a joke of a player.. I cringed so much watching birmingham play when the ball was crossed in to the face, he was there and either
a) did nothing
b) fell over
c) collapsed
d) tripped
e) inexplicably managed to miss
f) backheeled it
g) didn't notice the ball
h) couldn't move his leg

Also sprint being less than jogging pace was pretty exciting to watch :/

Chelsea - I know, sounds odd, but...

Twice in 2 seasons they have had English clubs which are far weaker in general progress further in major competitions. Guess another £50m plus needs to be spent.

Failing to win a cup competition hardly makes them failure of the year in my book - they have dominated the Premiership, reached a cup final and were only knocked out of the Champions League by the champions. They are the only team in Premiership history to obtain over 90pts in a season multiple times and also produced the best home record ever (P19 W18 D1 L0).

Manager- Souness.
Team- Sunderland
Players- Jose Antonio Reyes, Emile Heskey, Kieron Dyer, Milan Baros, Nicky Butt, Shaun Wright Phillips (he is a failure and a greedy one at that), Patrice Evra (doesnt even look like he has played football before) there are a few more.

Someone saying Perrin was a failure earlier, Portsmouth were higher in the league when he left than where they finished with Redknapp.

But yeh he was still rubbish.

I liked Perrin, he kind of lost the plot near the end :D

2nd most Assists in the Premiership

Whoopee do.

Let me dig out some quotes of how amazing he was going to be when he signed, and how he was supposed to take the premiership by storm.

Instead, he has delivered, nothing.

He (from what i can see) doesnt make it onto the Actim top 100 players list:
http://www.premierleague.com/fapl.rac?command=forwardOnly&nextPage=actimTop100

He's been less productive than almost every other player in his position.

I'd say 2nd most assists in the premiership is pretty good personally.

Yes quite probably.
5 agaisnt Boro reserves.
At home.
Come on, you can do better than this.

Nearly 17 million quid, he's scored 5 goals this season made 274 FAILED passes. and dived a lot.

He's been nowhere all season.

3 against Boro I believe, I don't believe he's been as effective as he can be. I think placing him upfront hasn't helped and he plays far better on the left. However I think there have been players who have been more of a Failure than him, Sol Campbell for example.

Jon Stead should win the award.
