"Fake Duracell Industrial batteries"

The box and packaging for the ones on the right is the correct box.

The box on the left is not an official Duracell packaging box unless its very old.

Do the batteries have a serial numbers on the outer wrap?

The ones on the right do not have the inkjet serial the ones on the left do. The left ones were supplied by Duracell trade...

We have been getting them in the box on the left for a few years only the bigger batteries come in a box similar to the right one.

When you see them in person and compare the two the ones on the right are very obviously not real. The colouring is wrong and the quality of the print is poor compared to the left ones.

It is just a minefield when it comes to fakes and the average end user won't know any difference. If they do they will blame the brand not that its fake.

But that box on the right is a legitimate packaging box for the Duracell Industrial Batteries. I can't get hold of any AA's at the moment but the AAA's the green rim like your AA's have a green rim.

I just spoke to someone and all AA & AAA Duracell batteries have the laser etched serial/Batch number on the battery. If they do not have this then they are not Genuine battery's. This is not conclusive as this can be faked too but it's a start. The AA & AAA I received today from ebay do not have these numbers. The batteries I already have from Duracell do. Pic below of my Existing AA & AAA battery's...

In short if your AA or AAA's do not have the etched serial/Batch no they are definitely fakes...

I use to deal with Duracell representative when i worked for a tech retail company. He was saying this sort of stuff is getting really common and is causing a lot of problems in just admin work when something does happen.

Now a days batteries are only really used in devices which require little power. Most charge is lost over time rather than being used by the device, like with TV remotes and smoke alarms and such. I grabbed the highest mAh speed rechargeable Duracell lock batteries i could find and never had to buy any more since. Recharges in 15 minutes as quoted and holds a decent amount of charge for years. Seems like an expensive buy when you pay out a score for 8 batteries and a re-charger but the convenience of never running out of batteries and the longer lasting power is worth every penny.

Sounds right, I have not seen any fakes with the coloured bottom either (yet)

Wont be long until the fakes have serials but at least you know if it does not have one it is definitely a fake.
