Ah go me hah, I thought it was just a download link :o Thanks!

Also thanks Tefal, those textures look so much nicer than the base ones.... wonder if you can use them in the SDK...

You also need both of the episodes.

But you might want to look at some of the older versions of the mod, they all have very good textures, and the new intro moive is always worth a watch.

I own the eppisodes, they run fine on my PC, but this mod seems to be quite demanding considering what it does

Typical after I just downloaded 4.7GB of version v6!

Curse you a thousand times!

anyone care to make a torrent for this?

it should spread like wildfire on these forums :)

i would but with a 75k upload it'd take longer than downloading it from filefront lol

im only just installing it now. the installer says i need 20gb of space for it lol

Should I recommend this to my mate? He's playing HL2 for the first time at the moment, on;

BFG 8800GTS 512MB OC / 2GB RAM / Q6600 / Windows XP 32bit

... or should I just leave him to play the game 'as it should be' and without the potential crashes? :p

Also, does this load like a mod (e.g. easy to turn on/off) or does it permanently alter the game?

And do savegames from vanilla HL2 work with cinematic HL2?

Thankfully reading this thread properly has stopped me downloading 5Gb of useless data.
I don't know whether i am jealous or not but i a glad my connection is Free for gaming this afternoon :p

well, it look great really. its still obviously the source engine - very angular. but the textures are brilliant and the music is a goo addition, if a little too dramatic at times maybe. the models are very good too, though i think they must have modelled Alyx on Lara Croft lol.

it runs well enough too. ive got a 3.1ghz e2160 and a stock 8800gtx on vista 64, 4gb ram. im running at 1920x1200 2xAA and the performance is fine:) it drops to the high 20's in the big areas but there's no real problem with it:)

just remember to change filtering to 16x Anistrophic, big big difference

What the hell? All 6 parts just crashed at 99%. :(

Would a HD 3870XT be enough to run all of these games, with this mod, fully at 1680x1050? Or should I go for the 8800GT instead?

oh you also need episode 1 and 2 installed and working, to use it as it uses the orange box's modified engine.

Ah well, time to pony up for the orange box! Just spent a fortune on the Unreal pack, only to find that Steams UT3 doesn't work on XP SP3 for me and a million other ppl :(

I'd let him play through the original one the first time so he can truly appreciates the cinematic mod the second time play it through perhaps on the hardest difficulty settings.
