Fallout 3 Anyone?

Agreed

I can see a PS3 version being released as a GOTY version with the DLC included like they did with oblivion.

I can't imagine why though? I thought the only reason they did that with oblivion was that the PS3 wasn't out when the game was launched so it made sense to stick it all together.

I want to get this, but not sure whether to get it for the 360 or PC, both have their plus and minus points :(

looking forward to it but will begetting on pc. they said pc version will be bit diferent inventory and etc. so far in e3 game play demos was just fighting did not look so good but hopefully it will be much better

If you have a half decent PC then buy it on that, this will look shocking on a 3 year old 360 hardware..

I'm guessing it will be the same principal as oblivion, Looks better on PC. Will no doubt get a million mods that will make it look even better, and the mod scene itself will be huge.

So yeah, If you've got a good PC, I'd get it on PC too.

Eurogamer really butchered this game in their preview. It sounded like a tacky, horrible, poorly made game and really dented my enthusiasm for it. The main complaints were poor environment, horrible wooden animation taken straight out of Oblivion, poor voice acting, poor combat, all the basics of a mediocre game basically.

I'm gutted to be honest but here's hoping they're wrong this time around.

Going on how much I enjoyed Oblivion this was a definate day 1 purchase for me, even with it's dissapointing E3 showing but after reading the Euroganer hands-on I think I'll wait and see how the reviews fair as they had very little good to say about the game which is dissapointing :(

the videos of combat looked soo bad though, one where the guy with the knife just widely stabs the air and looks round while being shot from 2 foot away :/

If Fallout 3 follows the style of 1 and 2 then it's turn based stats combat. you get a certain number of action points to use up by moving, attacking, reloading etc

you can choose to either play it real time FPS combat or indeed FPS turn-based combat kindoff. Which looks great i have to say :D (sorta cinematic)

i wasnt looking forward to playing it as a twitch FPS so the turn based targetting style combat is what makes me :)

Only downside I saw to that, But it may have been some sort of cheat he had on or something, A single shot to the head seemed to disintegrate the bodies. :\

he was insanely high level etc with god mode, and he had bloody mess perk, which in the original games meant when you punched someone half their chest could rip apart :p

Hopefully when a pc games magazine reviewer got to play it for 30 mins, they were also given a hacked character, they fought 3 super mutants and killed 2 with a bit of wood.

French PC magazine dude said:
towards the end of my half hour, whilst wandering through Washington DC, I fell upon a group of three super mutants. One was equipped with a Gatling. I was level 3 and I was only equipped with light Raider armor. For weapons, I had a baseball bat and a basic 10mm pistol and an ammo-less laser piston. I switch to VATS and aim for the Gatling mutant in the hopes of making him drop his weapon. I miss and the other two mutants head straight for me. I grab my baseball bat and alternate between VATS and real-time whilst waiting for my AP to recharge. The first mutant is downed, I loot a bat with a nail in it and kill the second mutant in much the same fashion. During this some sort of mutant spider joins the fray and attacks me. I kill it with my bat. The third super mutant fell to a combination of grenade and 10mm pistol. I’m a half hour into the game, level 3 and I manage to take down three super mutants and some unidentified thing without much trouble and find myself in possession of a Gatling fun.

CanardPC Q&A - English translation

I hope this was just an encounter set up for demo purposes and not a sign of level scaling.

Excellent news, As I like it to be a case of, Sniper rifle to the head either equals a clean head shot or removal of the head.

I dont like instant gore unless you throw a grenade at someone or hit them with a shotgun at close range. Some realism needs to ensue :p

wow thats ****in dire.

It seems they've replaced the level scaling safety net by just making everything as weak as a four year old.

*well except 4 year olds who are of course immortal.

Does the AI suck as much as it appears in the gameplay videos?
Yes, unfortunately, it’s one of the main faults of the full version of Fallout 3. The mobs are totally stupid, with NPCs that flee in the direction of their aggressors, enemies that find themselves running on the spot, blocked by a too-low platform ( enabling me to re-arrange their faces during combat), rats that charge you so close as to bump into you then jumping up and down in a vain attempt to cause you harm. It is the one point that Bethesda should be taken to task over.

what is with beth, and crappy AI :/

they were using god mode and 10000 % acuracy and etc so yea should be quite decent game. if anyone played f1 f2 , and its still bit diferent f3 is must buy
