Fallout 4 (rumour only, don't get too excited!)

Just collating information at the moment, but well excited to hear some juicy rumours popping out about the next installment of the Fallout universe.

Fallout 4 has (apparently) been absent from E3 this year. However, behind closed doors, Bethesda gave details and a 37 second trailer for the upcoming Fallout 4. Pete Hines of Bethesda is keeping tight lipped about the 45 minute presentation, but it seems there was a leaker inside who was willing to give this information.

> Fallout 4 has been in development since January 2011 by a small team, as the majority were working on Skyrim.

> As of February 2013, the team working on Fallout 4 is the size of the team which was working on Skyrim. This is due to Skyrim development ending.

> As it stands now, Fallout 4 will release on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. However, this is still subject to change.

> The actual announcement for Fallout 4 will come BEFORE E3 2014, but will NOT launch in 2014.

> The expected launch is in October 2015.

> The game is (as of June 2013) 55% complete, consequently, voice actors will be hired towards the end of 2014.

> There is no planned multi-player, but there is a possibility of Co-Op locally.

> The game will take place in Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington (and surrounding areas). The main setting is in a Post-Apocalyptic Boston. However, this area will not be immediately accessible.

> The story is not clear, however, Vaults exist.

> The 37 second trailor starts starts with a half-broken phone sparking. The scene pulls out slowly with the stereotypical music you would hear. Slowly you work out the scene is pulling out of a belltower. As it pulls further out, you see a destroyed town around. This is Boston. Suddenly, you hear the bell chime loudly, and the screen changes black instantly. The words of Ron Pearlman are heard "War... War never changes...". The logo for Fallout 4 appears with the 5 platforms above listed.

Kinda glad it's not going the MMO route, and they're keeping the formula largely the same. Co-op would be something I'd be interested in, but if you're going down that route then surely faction based gaming isn't far off.

OK, just need to wait 2 years. Upping patience perks and points now.
 
I never liked Fallout, don't know why, seems right up my alley haha, RPG, lots of armour and weapons, collecting, missions and factions... But, it was missing something :(
 
I'll just come out and say it - Fallout 3 is my favourite game of all time. News about Fallout 4 makes me moist, which is not a good thing when I'm reading this at work :D

Even if FO4 is a new story with the same engine/graphics as FO3 I'll be over the moon.

Where can I see the trailer? Bethesda just take my money now :)

I felt like that about FONV (which was OK, don't get me wrong). Fallout 3 was the superior game for me. Liberty Prime was amazeballs!
 
I think FONV is the better game, compared to 3, but I can see it's personal preference rather than cut-and-dried. FO3 started stronger, but went a bit poo. FONV started slow and became triumphant. Either way, I'm VERY EXCITED about FO4, and will continue to be so for the next two and a half years while we wait for it.

Super Mutant: 'Jolly good then, cheerio!' *skips off to enjoy tea and crumpets in the corner* 'Oh gawsh, me teeth fell out, that's nary much good now is it, what's me gawna do nar.'

Quest accepted: Get Basil the Super Mutant new teeth.

While searching the ruins of one of London's many false tooth establishments, you are accosted by a group of Ghouls.

'Oi blud, we are bare gonna shank ya if ya don't give us ya crumpets!'

*player unholsters the only gun in Britain*

'Allow it man, we aint got no beef innit was a joke! Safe yeah!'

*Ghouls drop their pen knives and BB guns and flee the scene, running past an awkward corpse of a Royal Guard still standing with his rifle*

The player finds new teeth for Basil, and delivers them to him promptly.

Didn't get on well with Fallout 3, but i do want to go back to it at some point to see if i change my mind.

Back on topic. Cannot wait for this! Love Fallout games and the fallout universe in general. 2015 though? Surely it can't take that long? Its been 3 years since NV and 5 since FO3

But 2015-2016? Ugh. Might be done with gaming by that age!

I wonder if I will get it on ps4 or pc by that time!

As long as it takes more from Fallout 3 than it does New Vegas I will be a happy camper

What didnt you like about NV? I felt it had more of a 'fallout feel' than 3 (though both are good games).

Newcomers prefer Fallout 3 to NV, whereas people who have played the originals usually prefer NV from what I've gathered.
