Fallout3 DLC - Its Here!!

If any one is looking for where the main files for the pack are to back them up they are located

C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Xlive\DLC

don't know if its different for vista.

I've also read if you copy the game date from here to your fallout3/data folder you can play it without needing to load Games for windows live.

Just finished it:D Well worth getting as around 4-5 hours if you do not rush and when you complete all the quests it lets you choose some new armour & weapons to use in the main game as it returns you there when you have completed the VR so you can continue with your new gear. Also if you enter this at level 20 it makes it easier to do as it also takes your stats/perks from the main game and lets you use some of them. Size wise you get about as much as one of the large quests in the main game with several smaller sub quests. Most of the locations are outdoors but their are a few indoors ones including a large underground complex. Gfx are ok but as before just different pallette and some new weather effects & animation. Some stunning, some average. Sound is also very good. I have posted a few screenshots here if your curious!

Correct, it's DLC. A DIGITAL expansion. Not sure how many times you need this explained to you. Especially as you quoted wikipedia pages which only proved you were wrong

DIGITAL Expansion?

Can you explain this one to me please as the last time i checked, content on a CD or DVD was also DIGITAL. I wish people would get of the DIGITAL bandwagon.

Ive just dl it and im about to start a new game, problem is do i need to still have Live on while playing cause it keeps getting disconnecting when im watching a dvd on my xbox?
What if i start a new game then save it, then turn my xbox on, it wont matter then will it?

I wonder how much money Bethesda are making from the pc dlc. I can't imagine it's much.

I'd say Bethesda are getting about £3, maybe less.

Obviously, thats a complete guess.

Essentially, we have a position where we have an Exclusive Publisher for DLC??? What the?

Microsoft as the publisher will obviously be taking their cut out of it.

This is the PC, you dont need a publisher for DLC?

Whoever signed that contract at Bethesda needs to be given a good shoeing.

Im guessing MS paid Bethesda to keep the DLC on Xbox and not the PS3 and profit they make from the DLC will recoup some of those costs.

I have a PC, why should I help to recoup those costs?

I for one wont be downloading, if only because I disagree with this truly awefull business model.

I hope Bethesda realise they have gotten their hands well and truly burnt.

No you don't need to be connected to live while playing.

How do i know that the new content is in the game without live on?
Cause the dl section on the main screen aint highlighted, but when i go on live it is, with my new add on. So i really dont have to have live on to use my add on then, you really sure:)

Oh sorry I thought you were talking about xbox when you mentioned it in your post. I know you don't need to be connected to live if you're playing on xbox, so I can't think of a reason why you would on PC

started playing Anchorage now, just done the first mission to blow some guns up :P

its almost like a completely new game with this expansion... worth the money i guess.

I wondered the same thing after downloading so I went to
C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Xlive\DLC

and copied the dlc files to

fallout3/data

folder, loaded the fallout 3 launcher clicked "Data Files" and ticked the Anchorage box. Loaded the game and then got the quest after about 5 mins of wandering around. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_quests#Operation:_Anchorage

So, putting the charge aside.......is the DLC any good? will be getting this later, so just interested in what the content is like.:p
