With rights back to Marvel. Looks like the cast is complete and the FF movie will start pre production. Mixed feelings to be honest, the last one was awful. Hopefully now its back under the MCU banner it "should" be better despite the recent MCU TV shows and movies. This should open up a lot more characters, stories and material which they could not use before.

IMDB - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10676052/

Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic - Pedro Pascal
Sue Storm / Invisible Woman - Vanessa Kirby
Ben Grimm / Thing - Ebon Moss-Bachrach
Johnny Storm / Human Torch - Joseph Quinn

Honestly I never found the Fantastic Four that interesting and Pascal is a not who I'd immediately think of for that role either. I think the usual origin story needs to be a lot better to make this work at this moment in time, just polishing a bland idea with barrow loads of cash won't cut it.

Should have stuck with Jim Halpert for Mr Fantastic as in Doctor Strange 2. Maybe even Emily Blunt as Sue Storm.

rp2000

I really thought that at one point too. However allegedly it was a no go when one or both of them refused the roles for some reason. Blunt had multiple offers from Marvel in the past but she refused them all.

I like Kirby and Quinn. Like Pascal but not sure about him fitting the role. Not familiar with the other guy really.

Moss-Bachrach isn't a bad shout for Ben Grimm TBF.

Pascal is the oddity here without a doubt. His most iconic roles don't really have much in common with Reed Richards. So either they are planning a very different Reed Richards, or Pascal is going to be pushed outside of his comfort zone.

I had this same doubts when they were going to make GotG so as the saying goes "Sometimes maybe good sometimes maybe ****". I am sceptical but it depends if they actually put the same effort as their successes which is what i think is lacking with the TV shows and some of the recent movies. Simply overloading with CGI wont cut it, they have to come up and make good use of the material to make it worthwhile.

It can't be as bad as the one they made to keep the IP rights, right?

The 2000 ones hold a special place for the amount of cheese and having fun.

Exactly which is why they have not allow it to be part of the MCU. ie Morbius, Madam Webb and possibly Kraven etc. It has not been entirely bad ie Spiderverse movies have been excellent so no idea how they get these movies so wrong.

I changed my mind, bad acting won't help it either.

That was hilariously bad, utter cringe. The end bit was Am Dram warmup routine level.

Pascal has lost all credibility since Narcos, totally sold any talent he had for cash. Makes me wonder whether it was just the writing in Narcos that made him look good.
