Fantasy Football 08/09

Once again changed but I think Im finally sticking with this, was either this team or :

Reina replaced by Al-Habsi
Santa Cruz replaced by Adebayor

Dont particularly like having 3 players from any 1 team so that might get me to do the above transfer

I can only assume he's a Man City fan judging by the complete lack of any Man Utd players.

Yeah, I happen to live in a household of Utd fans choosing one of them simply isn't an option they would never let me forget it.

And as for the expensive bench comment I am considering changing that around a bit before I leave for my holiday on Tuesday as that will be my last chance.

Starfish Bandits are in.

Not kept up to date with transfers this summer, O well

Now bentley or modric in midfield, choices choices :)

How anyone can afford ronaldo is beyond me, plus out for a while not a great buy. O and my first time playing fantasy.

Nice team although Kranjcar and petrov are your weak points (everyones has a few)

How much is woodgate? I think hes too good of a player to have on the bench. I would get a cheaper goal keeper and get a cheaper sub in place of woodgate and may be spend it on another midfielder

Petrov is hardly a weak point, he got tonnes of points last year.

 He got 60. Not a great deal really

Krancjar got 115 though. Decent for 6.5 although i had him for a period last year where he didn't get any decent points for about 6-7 games so he annoyed me ;)

Ye I just checked Martin petrov's points and jumped to that conclusion, heh

I'd rather suck you than slap you...

Go for the best of the best with a sprinkling of average players and hope for them to do well, or spend more evenly ? Hmmm

Will post team later, got adebayour + torres up front with kitson, but have spent less elsewhere and have cheapy subs.

Any tips for a first timer, without giving away your winning strategies of course............. Unless you really want to :D

edit, team so far:

I would say try and get 11 players playing every week for a start.

After that, understand the rules well. The advantages this gives you include knowing some teams have two fixtures in one gameweek allowing you to get double points for certain players. Don't have any defensive midfielders in, as good players as they may be, they don't return points. Goals and assists do.

Goalkeepers aren't just defenders, they get points for every 3 saves made as well. For this reason, the price for a top 4 goalkeeper isn't justified for me when a 'keeper that has more to do can score as much as the top four would from clean sheets but cost less.

I could write more but sure everyone doesn't want to hear my footballing opinions take up so much of the thread :)
