No we don't. I got Reina, he'll score just as many points (if not more) and is cheaper.

You got me excited then, alas Cech and Reina are the same price

Ripper, regarding the keepers: Roughly how many saves on average would James (or similar) make? Trying to work out if its better to have a keeper who makes few saves but keeps a clean sheet or one that makes loads but concedes a couple of goals.

I remember last season that a clean sheet for your keeper and defender automatically bagged you 6 points

I've already made 1 or 2 changes to my original team and I'll proberly make 2 or 3 more before the season starts

Hopefully Barca do me a favour and buy Lampard so I can use my money more wisely :p

Wow all your money on basically 3/4 players, Lampard, Rooney and Ronaldo, that could be really good or really bad for the week. But good team thou, tempted to copy it... Here is mine at the moment, might get Shorely instead of Lescott. I've found last season it's better to have an attacking midfielder who score goals or get 5 defender or 3 strikers instead. Thou a friend of mine last season played 4-4-2 and finished in the top 1000 players in the end, he was averaging about 70 points a week, a few times he had over 100 !

Well since posting that team I've changed it around a bit, I was faced with going with Rooney out of loyalty or using the money more wisely on 2 strikers that combined would proberly get me more points that Wazza. It was a wrench to take him out but I think my team as a whole has benefited from it.

There's still plenty of time left before the season starts if I cant face leaving Rooney out :D

Ok you've squeezed it out of me :p

Ashton for 7.0

Ashton was one of the first bargain players I looked at but in the end thought against it as I haven't even heard if he's going to be fit for the start of the season and even then he'll proberly take some time to get going after his long lay off. Not to mention given West Ham losing most of their best players there's no guarantee West Ham will do well next season.

I think Earnshaw is a good buy at 5.5 - Guaranteed starter and during his last spell in the Premiership scored his fair share of goals when Robbo played him. Good option for the bench IMO.

Nolan has been a disappointment last season, Defoe isn't a certain start for spurs, Keane and Bergatov is in front of him and unless he comes off the bench and scores he won't get the points for playing. And 2 Everton midfield is risky, Arteta is a good buy because he takes freekicks, corners and penalties so chances of assists is quite high. With Cahill he would have to score to make an impact.

Arteta is a right rip off this season, I'd much rather save some money and get someone like Pederson or at the same price someone like Giggs who although wont play every week will get plenty of points when he does play. Personally I think Cahill is a bargain for a regular goal scoring midfielder.

Nothing decent, strikers that gets picked starts at more than 5mil. Lita (Reading) is the best of the cheap bunch at 6.5mil.

Earnshaw might not be a bad signing, he'll start for Derby and did fairly ok in the Premiership with West Brom a couple of years back. He's 5.5 though, same with Copra who might be another to keep an eye on.

I wondering whether there's anyone who hasn't got Ronaldo in their team?

I'd definitely take Hargreaves out of your team seeing as midfielders get their points from assists and goals, Hargo is unlikely to get many/any of either. Same goes for the likes of Makelele and Mascherano.

yeah but who in his place who is cheap enough ?

Personally I think Pompy's Muntari will be a surprise hit this season, he's the same price as Hargreaves. Malbranque could be another option especially if Spurs fail to sign a left sided player.

Of course if you can save some money elsewhere (or if you've got any left) there's a whole wealth of talent available for 7.0 - Matty Taylor & Bentley being the most obvious ones. ;)

Regarding Tevez it might be worth keeping an eye on his situation as he might not be playing for anyone at the start of the season......

Ok so I've been giving my team some thinking recently and wondering whether it's better having a core of players that will stay the same but then go to making one change a week according to who might get the most points that week.

So what do we think? Get your team together with a long term view or go from week to week making a change where appropriate?
