FAO Dons or Admins.

Im fond of the photography forum. I could get a new account and post critique and just change my exif to another camera model, my hosting to another provider and domain name (or use tinypic) and no one would have a clue.

At the end of the day my previous clan sort of opened my eyes : im not easy to get on with, and i dont even realise, so i cant really change it, so i have to accept that my forum account has a lifecycle.

Um I think you'd be spotted 2BL as you have an, ummm, unique 'style' shall we say :p

If anyones interested come into Photo and search for his pics

I think on an overnights reflection my attitude stinks so I would like to apologise to the mods. I appreciate the job you do for the community only sometimes it seems that its very one way moderation. Maybe thats just my tunnel vision towards the situation though... ill try and tone things down in the future :)

The hilarity is that an EX don suspended my access to MM and, when prompted for a reason, not only did he/she not give one, they were also horribly rude about the whole thing.

To this day, and thats a year or more on, I still remain without access, a reason or any shape and or form of reversal in what i consider to be a quite magnificently ludicrous mistake on their behalf.

Ah well, sod it. Its just a forum after all.

Actually, it was me who requested you MM access was removed. I apologise if I missed any emails you sent, but the reason for you access removal was for MM spam (i.e. posting in the MM without any intention to buy. You were suspended/warned about this issue on two previous occasions.

Lets think it of this way.

The dons don't gettin paid for their daily service so there is no need to ask why your banned or whatever.

I can see both sides of the story though that people do require to be notified that they are banned and why they would be banned or access to certain areas but lets face it, life is hard and if you break rules you simply need a good kick up the bum.

I have had temp bans in the past but learnt a very valuable lesson by it. Just get on with life and don't make a big scene about it. Theres more to life than this.

I'm not usually one to react to people's posts but I need to comment on this as a few others have said the same thing lol! (and I will probably fail at getting my point across correctly).

Dont get me wrong, I am grateful that we as a community have a decent set of mods and fair rules but i dont agree with your point (and the many others who have mentioned that it's 'free' or' they are giving their spare time' etc.

Again I want to menton that I am grateful and by no means assuming i have any right to these forums but!!

They did agree to becoming a mod and giving some of their spare time, not one of them were told they 'have' to do it.

The whole point of having the moderating team here is to ensure a clean, friendly enviroment for the 'community' and I feel that if they haven't got the time to do something, i.e leave a message to tell someone what they have done wrong, then they shouldn't be moderating or they should bring up to the bosses that more mods are needed. If they want their forums to be a place like this then they should lead by example. Banning people etc with the attitude of 'it's our forums' (and im not implying the mods think like this but some users think they do) so you can like it or lump it. As much as its nice that they give us these forums, you would have to be pretty blind/niave to think its not also partly to generate business. I'm sure when these forums were born, its main goal was primarily generating interest, its only because of its sucess we have all of the other topics that we do today.

Id like to add I've never been in trouble (maybe after this post lol) so I'm not bitter and this post is trying to be constructive.

edited a few times because i fail lol

And again my theory from before is strengthened...I've complained about personal attacks before and nout gets done about it...yet the other day when someones blatently being a plank I get complained about for caling them something and low and behold, something gets done about it.

Nevermind eh

If you did an RTM once in 2005 I'm not sure how it validates your argument ;)

Eh? An RTM is an RTM, if it wasn't enforced or looked into back then how does that make a difference now? Rather than just giving someone a point based on what someone else says, perhaps the thread / comments should be read.

Natrally different mods have been and gone since then, or whenever, but its just funny.

I've sent some, didn't say recently though.

Does it matter how recently I send them or something? If they're ignored after x amount of months the complaint is void? :p

It's not necessarily that you did or didn't have a point at the time but it can be much more difficult to check after several months - threads might have been merged/deleted, the offending post might have been edited or removed entirely.

If you see a personal attack again then please do RTM it and if it is felt that action is merited it will be taken, do bear in mind that what you feel may constitute a personal attack isn't automatically the view of a moderator so no action may be taken for that reason. However if you've reported it and nothing appears to have happened then you can email a moderator (Don or Commissario as Underbosses can't check user records in the same way) and ask them for an explanation. Occasionally though things will get missed, it's not intended as a personal slight against you, it just happens sometimes.

Naturally, I'm not asking people to chase up anything :)

Just funny how suddenly I'm in the wrong even though someones was blatantly being a plank, but nevermind, tis done now
