I get 35 fps in dx9 and only 19 fps in dx10. any ideas what the problem might be? i'm using 178.24

Try the new 180.42 drivers.

Havent made any difference what so ever for me, but then again im not running dx10.

on far cry 2 i get stuttering as well with 1900x1200 no aa and at high settings on 3870x2 ?
with new hotfix ?

I have removed the dx 9 run of lettuce as it was on Very High and not Ultra High. I knew there was somthing not right about his result

DX10 takes quite a big hit compared.

[email protected], 4 gig ram 1.1 467fsb. 4870x2 stock speeds.
I actually play at 1920*1200 with 16x AS no AA, DX10 mode and it runs really well

Might have a little play with my clocks later as I can get more out of CPU and GPUs are stock.
Should be able to break 80 fps on the DX9 test

Just done this test at 1920*1200 and it runs just aswell in DX9
average 78.06
max 118.77
min 56.01

Runs on average 10fps faster for me under DX10,but alas it stutters with the hotfix drivers as for most single card user's(just look at the graph on dx19 for the minute spikes). Hurry ATI or Ubi sort it out.

Is the 9800GTX faster than a 4870 or something? I thought it was slower so the 4870 should be beating it by quite abit? I notice DX10.1 must be working though? faster frame rate in DX10 compared to the GTX that is quite abit lower.

I was talking about the DX9 results at first. The 9800GTX is faster than 8800GTX, and all 4870 on that.

Actually no I did that test on the last WHQL drivers they released, I have new ones downloaded and I will try with them a bit later.

the 9800gtx is overclocked as much as it will go without being unstable

the Trad2 cooler on it has allowed me to get another 8% out it
i dont understand why it is faster than the 4870 cards as it is usually the same or worse as them on most benches i have compared with

i know - im going to run it again tonight and check the average over a few runs just to see if something went wrong

tbh - the 8800gtx is still showing its wotth in modern games - that is quite an achievement for any graphics card!
