It's looking good, this is at 2560x1600 at the highest possible ingame settings with 0x AA and 16x AF.

Edit:

My own personal benchmark, just ran Far Cry 2:

1920x1200
All settings Ultra High
8x Anti Aliasing
Direct X 10

Average Framerate: 41.57
Max. Framerate: 57.78
Min. Framerate: 31.05

Without the new Far Cry driver.

assuming no framebuffer issues (the 4850 doesn't seem to be affected) then about half the performance of the 260.

Wonder if this was ran with the new beta nvidia drivers which boast incredible performance boosts for farcry2? ;)

Anybody else notice there is virtually no difference between the HD4870 and HD4870X2 in terms of FPS.

We double checked this, but it appears that the Radeon HD 4870 X2 is not performing much faster than the Radeon HD 4870. It does not appear that both 4870X2 GPUs are accelerating this game for added performance over the single-GPU Radeon HD 4870. We don’t quite know what to make of this just yet; we were using the new Hotfix AMD driver so the latest driver was being used. It may be that CrossFire isn’t working with this game yet, or it could mean there is simply a bug.

That all said the 4870X2 looks to be a monster in FarCry if AMD gets the scaling fixed as it will likely best the GTX 280 by a fair margin. Then again, the 4870X2 is about $125 more expensive than a GTX 280 as well.

So ATI released hotfix drivers that improve the crossfire scaling. What was performance increase from 4870 to 4870x2 before the hotfix, 0.1%?

I'm not bitter or anything :)
