Far Cry 2 Graphics Performance

From the benchmarks above looks like ati do pretty well in this game just a shame no gtx280 was involved but i reckon it won't be much faster than the single 4870.Sli 260 seems to have the edge in minimum frame rates in dx10 mode where as dx9 its the opposite but tbh nothing that would show in normal game play. Not sure if they are running the standard clock speeds on the cpu as this tends to hold the x2 back a good bit even over 4ghz shows decent gains on the x2 where as nothing really on the gtx280.

Crossfire seems to only work in Dx9 judging by these results, X2 gets about 35 frames more, where as in Dx10 it only gets 1 more frame.

Its working in both, not so well in DX10.

DX9 1680x1050 - 43 > 75(41) +74%

DX9 1920x1200 - 33 > 71(36) +115%

DX10 1680x1050 - 44 > 63(61) +43%

DX10 1920x1200 - 40 > 61(60) +52%

The PCGH was at 4GHz. [H] at 3.6GHz.

Average 60 for one card (2 gpu's) Is good though, gotta admit. For dx 10 and ultra high at 1920 by 1080 and with some AA.

So isnt far cry 2 surpossed to be as techincally impressive as Crysis then, or has it just been better programed?

Glad to see will be able to run it with basically max settings and 4xAA.

Who cares if it doens't look quite as good as Crysis "can" look - it seems to run very well, and I really like the graphics from what I have seen of the screenies.

Just hope my pre-order arrives by Friday, though I will have a hard time picking which game to play between this on PC and Dead Space on 360 - currently leaning towards killing my weekend on Dead Space though :)

anyone seen any 1280x1024, aa off, 8800gt benchmarks?

Cheers Bledd, I was waiting for some mid-range benchmarks. I really don't know why all the previous benches were at stupid, 1%-of-the-market resolutions.

Hopefully I'll be able to play at 1680 on my 9600GT without AA :)

what does 4:1 AF mean?

i only play with AA on games that don't get a noticeable fps hit (like TF2 / Half Life etc)

smooth > quality, imo

^uvmain, those benchmarks are set at 'very high dx 9', so i imagine we can knock it down a few notches and have zero AA, which screen do you have btw?

thinking of selling my Xerox 19" to my sister for a few bob, to fund a 22/24 "

Just some cheapo 22" :)

Cheap, as in you can pick it up new for £130 ;) but it does the trick, and my card would struggle with anything higher than 1680 in most games anyway :p
