Far Cry 2 Graphics Performance

Graphics are not far from crysis, shows how crysis could have been optimized better.

I was actually going to post how this game shows how well coded Crysis really was :p

Everything in Crysis is destructible, you can cut down every tree and destroy every house and it stays like that forever, the lighting is a lot better, the character models are a lot better.

Far Cry still looks good though.

When I cut down some trees in Crysis am sure I can go away and come back after just going round corner to find em back up!

I'd test out Coretemp, even 38 would seem abit low for an Ultra 120 eXtreme, running at 60 load on my dual at 1.35V 4Ghz :(

Trust me, the program works fine. I tested it against speed fan and coretemp before starting to use it. The thing is I have great airflow in my case. I have a Antec 900 modded and stuck one of these on the side:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...a AK-F2230SM-CB 220mm Silent Case Fan - 4 Pin

It lowered my temps down quite a bit. It hits the graphics card, the cpu heat sink and the ram :)

My CPU used to run 30-31c on idle before, now its 22-23c idle. When it gets cold in the room I have seen it at 18c before :) It took a while for my legs to get used to it, as they were getting cold from the air coming out the top of my case which hits the top of my desk and then my feet, lol.

For example, when I use orthos the max I reach is about 60c, but in games, never. My cpu is at 1.425v in BIOS, but shows up 1.37 in cpu-z.

My graphics card runs on 38-39c on idle. Its currently set at 33% fan speed. Happy with that :)

Also my cpu is lapped and got Arctic Silver 5 on it which may help 1 or 2c :)

I would recommend you try out HWMonitor. It gives you all the reading in one. For example your graphics card temp, hdd temp, cpu temp, fan speeds, voltages being used. Also min max and current readings. Love it.

What is your avarage case temp willhub? Right now my one is at 27c but its usually between 24c ad 29c depending on if I am gaming, encoding or browing, and obviously room temp.

EDIT:

I just ran 3 loops of the Far Cry 2 benchmark. Max temps for CPU was 38c, and max temp for graphics card was 57c. I remember crysis warhead made my gpu go up to 62c before though.

My average case temp is like 35 degrees.

Yeah, if you drop that to like 25c, i predict your cpu temp will go down quite a bit. Just buy some acrylic from b&q, cut a hole in the middle and stick that fan i showed you in the middle. Will do wonders for your temps ;)
