Still though, if you want to see it at the best it can be on the PC you will need a monster PC to do so. Those that have one will be happy and will get in PC no doubt, for others the sensible choice would be the 360.
I'm not sure that a monster PC is required for games these days.
I only have an 8800GT in mine, which can be had new for about £90 these days... my E6600 which I bought on launch day is hardly state of the art 2 years on, but it still plays all the games I throw at it, and is also cheap to pick one up these days.
I played through Crysis a couple of times on my rig and found it perfectly playable (especially after patching) with details on high (not extra high)
Far Cry they've said will be a lot less demanding than Crysis, but even then, you really don't have to set everything to "the best it can be" for a PC title to still look spectacular. The extra resolution goes a long way.
No real point to this post, I just don't think you need to spend the fortune you once had to on PC gaming. My rig is two years old this month, with the exception of the 8800GT which i bought last year, and that was never a state of the art card, just a good value for money one. After all this time, I'm still not in any need of an upgrade to play games, I could, but I just don't need to. Sure, it still costs more than a 360 for example, but not as much more as some people may think.
Anyway, back OT, looking forward to trying Far Cry 2

I hope there's a demo on the PS3 and PC at some point, so I can compare for myself, but seeing as the PC version will undoubtedly be the superior version, and most likely be a fair bit cheaper to buy as well, it's a no brainer for me which version to get.
