Far Cry 3 Thread

I didn't give the team deathmatch much of a chance, but the 4 player co-op missions were fun. Reminded me of left 4 dead / payday because of the mission structure, but with less of the zombies and less of the frantic running about.
You playing SP or the side missions?
Mate at work recently said he was finding it a bit boring. Said he was about 1/3rd the way through the story missions, but still only had 1 gun.
Turns out he had done no hunting and no side missions so could only carry 1 gun and basically just drive from story mission to story mission, not even bothering with radio towers or outposts
Why is far cry 3 poorly optimised?
Hi All, need opinions on far cry3, being having issues with this highly anticipated game. I have a decent pc which has a 7970 3gb ghz vapor - x and fc3 seems to run pretty slow on ultra. To be honest this game must have problems with my card, it seems that way. Also what fps are you guys getting and with what settings? Cheers.

What resolution are you running at? That card should handle the game nicely.
What are you're other specs?
Make sure in CCC you don't have some setting that is disregarding the applications settings (May cause issues).

What's wrong with 40-60fps? A 560ti isn't exactly a top of the range card these days.
your card is pretty old now, what did you expect

I think Mark is responding to Samm who is having problems running ultra on 7970. Mark is saying he ran the game fairly well on 560Ti on ultra.
Samm, try turning MSAA down a bit to maybe 2x, or off. Doesn't make too big a difference IMO. Should make a big difference. You are also maybe limited by your' CPU a bit.

Think a couple of you are getting mixed up here. Samm_ is saying hes got a 7970 3gb and its not running well on ultra. Mark3h is saying he's got a 560ti and its running pretty well most things on ultra. He even says its 'superbly optimized'.

What fps with what settings? ill test it see what I get tomorrow.
not sure how to find out, i'll take a look tonight, but it looks perfect, maybe the best P.Q ever, my rig hates Crysis 2 the most.
check you have the latest drivers, plus it's overclocked via AMD Catalyst only, i find all the rest of the OC Softwares a wee bit unstable.
i'm waiting to see if the MSI Lightning 7970 BE is released again, currently it's out of stock

Also turn down postFX as it crippled performance for me. I set it too medium and never noticed much difference.
mine is on Ultra on every game, it defaults to this i have no choice, but i sometimes back it off to high quality.... but i have mine on 60fps max, i never go above because i game via tv, so it only gives me 60fps anyway.
