Far Cry 3 Thread

Hi guys,

Finally got round to installing (physical copy) this today and I've gone to add/activate the deluxe DLC bundle which I bought from Greenman gaming and I just want to make sure I've got it right?

The code I was sent by GMG did not want to activate on Steam or uPlay but I was able to download the bundle through Capsule (GMG's own little agent by the looks of it?) and when that finished I was able to install. I've finished installing but all I am able to play is the soundtrack or the survival guide. Has the level content been automatically added to my Far Cry 3 installation?

I just want things straight before I start playing later :D

Check your map you should have some missions icons that stand out from the rest, the missions are called forgotten experiments & monkey business.

Hi,

Just started playing this. Slightly dissapointed by the huge weapon model / viewmodel fov but I can live with that. I'm enjoying the game but I don't really like all the hand holding there is, like everything appearing on minimap, following arrows all the time, being told when enemies are watching you etc.

I've been looking and I think Ziggy's mod will be good for me. I just want to expolore the island and find loot for myself etc, not for it to pop up on my map. And do missions as and when I find them.

Just wondering as this is my first play through, will I be missing out on anything by using Ziggy's mod? As far as I can tell it doesn't take anything away from the game apart from the hand holding.

Just started the Fly South Mission

Struggling to keep Willis alive and the last few heavily armored pirates. Willis keeps dying.

:(

Ohh I remember that one. I didn't run around looking for them like the guy in the video. I had the same troubles as you, I can't really give many tips tbh, I tried it a few times and got it eventually. I just took some cover near the plane and took them out as they came into view.

I think I mainly used the mounted gun for this. Occasionally if they got close I used my assault rifle/sniper to headshot them.

You do have to be careful of the guys who come up behind you.

Make use of your grenades as well if you see a group.

The main issue is the heavy mobs. I disengaged for most of them and got behind them to kill them. If I remember correctly they have a weak spot on their backs.

I remember using mines and C4 for the heavies and to proetct the surrounding area. Fire arrows also work well for heavies as it's a 1 hit kill. I only used the mounted gun for enemies coming directly in front of it and just for the regular enemy types.

Can anyone tell me,I got Far Cry 3 and fancy having a dabble with the FC3 map editor/creator.

When you create maps are you able to play them online against other people?..how does it work?

Why are the graphics/shaders so terrible in this game when there is low lighting? You get green/purple hands etc, it looks awful. Just me?

No idea, but there is a setting that can be turned low/off that eliminates it, can't remember what it was though.

I think you go to the uplay store click buy enter your details then the code

Thanks for replying. :)

Having searched the Ubisoft forums, it would seem that I have to enter the code for Lost Expeditions in order to get the main game.

Anyway, I've done that, and it appeared to accept my code, though no game has showed up in my library yet. I suppose it might take a while to materialize.

Finally got this to work with my 690!

For ages the game would stutter like mad and nothing I did would fix it :(

After upgrading my CPU and upgrading to windows 8.1 thought ild give it another try and it works :D Only played about an hour of it but finding it quite fun

Started playing this game a few days ago.

Great game. Really fun fluid and diverse. Game has everything. Climing, exploration, hunting, gun fights, stealth, mature story line, pretty graphics etc...
