Looks better than before and I guess I've also got a boost in FPS going to DX9, I can now have Post FX and Shadows on Ultra.

Hmm, strange. All my sweetfx files are in the bin folder.

I would disable the post FX setting:

The game looks much better than what it does in those screenshots, far cry 2 is very similar looking but this is just soo much better imo especially when the sun sets and rises.

Yes on the bottom.

and I do have HDAO turned on and everything set to max except post FX is disabled and shadows set to high with no MSAA.

Don't forget these shots are taken just using FRAPS, so the quality is reduced, the game looks much better on my screen.

Try it out for yourself, easy to install and easy to uninstall, takes like 5 minutes at most and that includes dll time.

Oh snap they do look good, sadly though when I tried using sweetFX last they crashed ever FC3 .exe in the directory.

Have your tried doing what willhub did?

I've also found using Radeon Pro, that tweaking the Texture LOD in the "Advanced" tab helps improve image quality, just don't turn it down too far or everything is super sharp and looks weird. I've also found that apparently Radeon Pro has SweetFX integrated into it, the version I've got is supposed to but does not appear to.

Hoping you could help me with a slight problem in FC3. I'm playing on a decent computer (spec in sig) on High settings, DX9 and nothing else apart from the 'FX=false' line in a config file, all at 1080p. For some reason, I have these black squares/dots appear whilst driving, only visible on the roads. Here's what I mean:

It's usually worse than that, and is kinda distracting. Any help will be appreciated.

I know it's kind of hard to tell from the image, but the squares flicker and there are usually more, I'll try and get a better image soon.

Using SweetFX with RadeonPro is much better, you just whack the SweetFX files anywhere, then link to RadeonPro, every game can have it then, I've got it on TestDriveUnlimited too

My system is running well for an old dog I think.

1080P, DX11, 4xMSAA, HDAO, everything Ultra apart from Shadows high and PostFX set to False (Looks much better), then SweetFX gives it a nice sharp look, just need to wait untill the sharpening of AA is fixed.

I'm getting around 30-60FPS, most of the time it's around 35, not seen it dip below 30 and that's playable for me.

What have you got your GPU buffer set to willhub?

EDIT:

Trying it out there and 2 is the sweet spot for me, have changed to HBAO as well now, seems to increase FPS by about 2 compared to HDAO.

1, anything more and it feels a bit sluggish, mouse lag etc...

Why would I have everything set to low and turned of when my PC is now capable of playing the game pretty much maxed out? :confused:

As I said, FRAPS reduces the quality and the game looks a lot better on my screen. Buy the game and try it out for yourself and you will see how much better it looks.

What program can I use to take high quality shots?

EDIT:

Just realised FRAPS is set to take screenshots with the BMP format

Will take some more later and post.

Awesome, the crop field mission is cool, get to set a load of weed fields on fire and the effects are immense, and it's playing a song by Skrillex too :cool:
