Far Cry 3 Thread

When you reinstalled Far Cry 3 did you remove all the hidden folders/profile stuff? There might not be a problem with the actual game files but the profile stuff might be corrupt?

Have you tried running the Far Cry 3 executable directly and not via the shortcut?

When reinstalling. keept all files as standard and user data. (just uinstall).

Tried running fc3 directly from exe file. nothing.

Have you thought about completely removing everything to do with Uplay? Including user data? Then reinstalling.

I had very similar problem - uplay would not update to the latest version so FC3 wouldn't run. Un-installing Uplay and reinstall latest version fixed it for me.

Sounds like the uninstaller files have gone. Might be worth looking for some uninstaller program to remove all traces off Uplay. Could give CCleaner a go.

went to reinstal ubisoft software but then got message "a more recent verion of the application is already installed"...

but when i try to unistall already present ubisoft game launcher it shows that there is no ubisoft installed on my system.

I loaded Uplay tonight and got a big update; it looks very different. Perhaps this is what is causing your message.

I think you need to find every single Uplay file and remove them manually. Then you'll need to remove any trace of Uplay from the registry so that to all intents and purposes, you've removed Uplay. You should then be able to reinstall Uplay and start a fresh.

thanks, so where are the entries of uplay in registry exactly. its a maze there.

What are peoples reviews of this? Getting a proper gaming PC tomorrow hopefully and have heard good things. What concerns me is, is it similar to Dead Island? Because while I enjoyed the first bit, I got bored quickly of it on 360

I liked it a lot. I often get bored of open world games, but this one can go at whatever pace you like. You can do story missions the whole time, or you can have fun planning and executing the liberation of the outposts (which gets progressively harder), hunting animals and getting new weapons. And it looks great. The story was great though. Great characters.

Can some one advise me:

1.. Trying to sell items for cash at the shop but it won't let me. Says I've got to buy first or dump items. Need a bigger bag.

2.. When the game saves, it doesn't return to the same point i left off ( location wise) . Is that right?

3.. Is there a list of objectives both pending and completed?

Thanks

If your wallet is full, then you can't sell.
If you have any plants, craft a syringe to free up some loot bag slots.
Maybe buy some body armour if you have too much cash.

Yes, you go back to camps or radio towers normally.

You will always only be on one quest. If you are on a side quest you must finish it to go back the the main quest. Each time you save and reload, it tells you what your current objective is.
