Far Cry 4 - Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

Noted today my first TDR crash in Far Cry 4 on 352.86 WHQL. I am in big hole now. Its my card really unstable or this is driver problem? I am getting random TDR crashes in Far Cry 4 on : 352.86 , 350.12 and 347.88 .

Despite my previous comment in this thread I too am still having issues in the way of black screen with the latest drivers. Went quite a few hours when I last commented but since the first black screen with the latest drivers it does it every couple of hours now at best. Reports of issues are common regarding the latest Far Cry patch so probably more likely the game.
I have tried others games and everything seems fine for me too.
One black screen happened when the phone rang and I kept my finger on a keyboard key too long as I was in the helicopter and thought I would try to keep it flying as I grabbed my phone- but was pressing the wrong button anyway. That might have been a coincidence or some shoddy code

I have really enjoyed FC4 and I did FC3 but this issue does get on me ti*s and cant be bothered to try it again for now. Hoping it gets fixed one way or another via a game patch or driver workaround

Did you have after crash in event viewer:"Nvlddmkm Display driver stopped responding and has recovered " ?

I've been getting "game stopped responding" black screens in FC3 recently, nothing has changed except the driver. Other games seem fine.

I haven't checked recently but the first time I saw a black screen I couldn't find anything in the event viewer.

I tried down clocking my card (as it's an EVGA SC) and problem still occurred. I remember seeing a youtube video recently of FC4 and the reviewer also had a black screen.

I will see if I can find time to try the game today or in the next few days and see if I can find anything in the event viewer. I suspect the issues are related and hoping it's fixed soon one way or another soon. I have see one error window that pops up but most of the time the game just freezes for a second then goes to a black screen.

I have had an issue with the latest driver and is Nvlddmkm related but the error is different from that mentioned above - 'The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.' Probably same problem though!
Wish somebody would fix it!

I tried alsorts, different drivers, changing the config etc etc etc. I finally stopped it from crashing however I did three things so it could be any one of these.

(350.12 drivers)

1. Deleted the gamerprofile.xml from here \Documents\My Games\Far Cry 4\3ac555d5-b79e-4d7b-bbfa-e2d03ba1965f (your code might be different).
2. Set antiscopic filtering to 16x for farcry4.exe in nvidia contol panel
3. Right clicked the FC4 shortcut and set to run as administrator

Somehow the above 3 or one of them stopped it from crashing. Not had a crash since my last post of 22/4/2015 and I've now completed the campaign.

I tested 347.88, 350.12 and 352.86 and the same problem with TDR crashing.
But yesterday i deleted gamerprofile.xml like you said. After 24 hours no crashes. Or maybe its just a luck?
Its very random. It will not crash for several days and then crash after 5 minutes one day.
I played other games without crashes: Metro LL, GTA V, Witcher 3, Unigine Heaven ,Valley,Crysis 3, Watch Dogs - no crashes on all drivers.
Only Far Cry 4 crashes my display driver from time to time ( very rarely but it happens )
