Due to the age of FC1, you might not get as much out of it as you would expect (worth trying out though). I'm not sure if there are mods out there for it or not. To be fair, I still think some of the graphics look quite reasonable, even by the standards of today.


Blood Dragon is great fun, and it's not without a sense of humour either. :)

My thoughts :-

* ludicrous amount of respawning enemies

* weapons jam way too often

* lots and lots of travelling from one side of the map to the other

* vehicles driving repetitively round and round in circles until you engage with them


I don't think there are mods available for it, though having said that I do recall someone doing a play through on youtube with something that made some differences...maybe it was called Dylan's mod?

Such a pity, as it looks pretty good. I think there were updates which added animals to the land to make it feel less of a spartan environment. Not totally sure about that though.

Far Cry is still one of the best games ever made. I do wish they'd remake it in HD though.

The MP was so awesome too. :(
 
This looks like more of the same, game play got a bit repetitive in Farcry3. I hope that it is more geared to PC game play instead of consoles. and the they have bumped up the texturing.

yh what ive read it says its too big of a game for a small story setting i bet it be good with mods if there were any

It was a real shame because it also does a lot right as well, and is really the last game that Ubi made without all of their copy/paste crap they do now. Also they should really revisit this game to learn about immersion in terms of UI and HUD, as after this is where it all went wrong. Overall it just isn't very good unfortunately.
 
I put this off for so long, based on uninteresting gameplay videos but I was so wrong! This looks INCREDIBLE! That first transition from pre-rendered cutscene to in-game was simply jaw dropping. Plenty of atmosphere in this & honestly I think the visual impression might have beat even FC5. The only thing - don't put soft shadows on (PCSS), it murders the framerate and the difference isn't worth it compared to ultra. I also just love the Asians with British accents choice, reminds me of some friends I had back in the UK; it's very cool! :)
