Some subjects split the shortsighted people from those who can see the bigger picture.
Farage used to be cheering this kind of thing on when it happened to people he didn't like and now it's happened to him. So for him I'm not crying a river.
But the principle that a person can be refused a bank account because of their political beliefs is outrageous.
This isn't a left/right issue as I remember Gordon Brown was going to bring in a law to force banks to provide a current account by law.

Just getting our money back for all the work he didn't do while being MEP and especially not helping the fishing industry when he was on the fisheries committee.

What a guy. They (the banks) do it to people all the time, with people struggling to get accounts etc because they've fallen foul of some rule or for no known reason and the banks don't explain or help.
Where's this guy been for these people then?
I doubt he's gone to ALL banks and the ones who have closed accounts or rejected a new application probably have assessed him as a risk (reputational would be my guess).

Hes probably been receiving dodgy money (again) and been found out.
Banks will shut you down for this as they are more worried about it after the mahoosive fines that now get handed out for failure to follow up and ensure funds are checked.

Until we know the actual reason it's not political persecution just because he says it is. Other pro brexit politicians have done rather well for themselves.

Story isn't worth any attention until there's more substance than just Farage claiming persecution.
It's potentially anywhere from a complete non-issue because he's fallen foul of something anyone could fall foul of due to suspect payments/movements etc. or it's actually a major political persecution job - at the moment there's seemingly nothing to indicate which is even remotely more likely.

Chris Bryant claimed in parliament that Farage earned money in 2018 from RT.
Farage says in this video he didn't ever receive money from anyone related to the Russian government

But he was employed by RT in 2018...so how did they pay him then?

That is the law. You have the right to a basic bank account from a number of banks, although that would only cover his personal bank account. There is no right to a business bank account.
