Farage has bank accounts closed

So if a bank is attempting to close your account:
a) you've failed, or refusing, to comply with Know Your Customer fraud/money laundering prevention.
b) you're classified as a high risk beyond the appetite of the bank
c) you're classified as a risk due to the behaviour of the transactions or the transactional source/destination

So. Screaming they want to close my accounts.. well, that happens to anyone, so feel free to declare what/why.. and then the court can confirm the real reason as part of the trial :D

Is Corbyn going to be 'debanked' for shilling for Russian State TV and being paid for appearing on Iranian state TV?

Whoah….. but Corbyn?

Is he on an official sanctions list? Honestly, if you want answers, do that training :D

Come on man! “Without reason”, can you show me an example?

You would have fitted in well in some socialist hellhole.

Like Christopher Hitchens account of being at a political meeting in an eastern European, country pre the collapse of the USSR, where the states goons turned up to arrest people but would not tell them what they were accused of doing wrong.

Christopher Hitchens Said: Journalist hate cliché – I know it doesn't seem like that when you read the papers but we try to avoid them. I went to Prague once under the old days of the communist regime. I thought whatever happens happens to me here, I'm not going to mention Franz Kafka in my essay. I'm going to be the first journalist not to do it.

I went to a meeting of the opposition underground. Somebody betrayed us, because the secret police came in suddenly –WHAM – just broke down the door, with dogs, rubber truncheons, the lot. They slammed me against the wall. '

'You're under arrest!'

'I demand to see the British ambassador!' blah blah

'You're under arrest.'

'What's the charge?'

'We don't have to tell you that.'

I thought, ****, now I've got to mention Kafka after all.

Whoah….. but Corbyn?

Is he on an official sanctions list? Honestly, if you want answers, do that training :D

Given that many don't seem to be told they are on such lists and when services are removed aren't told why how would doing some 'training' help?

We should be so lucky that he would be debanked and shipped off to Moscow.

That's not exactly an exhaustive list of reasons and if it is the private bank speculated it could also be a more mundane one along the lines of he's not all that rich and isn't generating much revenue for us.

Of course, if it is political as he seems to think then that is concerning especially given the parent company is still partly owned by the state.

I'm trying to work out why he thinks it would be politically motivated anyway.

The Government seem to be having most trouble with themselves and other conservatives, not some one time MEP.

The sanctions list is public record you fool.

How on earth are you extrapolating socialist hellhole? To be fair I’ve got some world experience and actually did live in one for a year (Romania, at the age of 1, pre fall of berlin wall, i’ve got pics if you are interested). My mum was chastised by the morality police in Iran. I guess you have to live a little to get a good view. I don’t buy the conspiracy theory, we’re living in one of the (currently) highest regulated financial environments in the world in the UK, and yet you need to strawman Christopher Hitchens about some random topic. Of course if you worked in the industry and at least had an idea about what you were talking about (because you’d have done the mandatory training) you wouldn’t look like a conspiracy nut

Or

He wrote: “The establishment is trying to force me out of the UK by closing my bank accounts. I have been given no explanation or recourse as to why this is happening to me.”
This is serious political persecution at the very highest level of our system.
“The banks themselves are part of the big corporate structures in this country. These are the organisations who did not want Brexit to happen”.

Are you saying that this “linked in view” was part of the formal screening of your section 75 claim by an FCA regulated entity?

How’s that?

No, nowhere did I say that, in fact I said coincidentally coincided with a section 75 claim, as I have no way of knowing why they viewed my profile.

The sanctions list is public record you fool.
There are plenty of examples now of people who have had their bank accounts closed and the banks flat out refuse to state even the broad reason why.

And given that Farage isn't saying he's on such a public list as a reason why this has happened, why even bring it up?

How on earth are you extrapolating socialist hellhole?

Because you think mindlessly referring me to "do some training" is an alternative to actually answering the actual key questions that I will remind you of now

1) Should major companies be able to act in often concerted efforts to withold key services from people or groups engaged in legal activities with zero explanation, transparency and or public oversight or not?

2) Shouldn't people accused of acting illegally be told of what crime they are accused of before they are punished or not?

Ok show me, it’s not something I look for day to day

Well, your insinuation is that this is going on outside of the boundaries and control of FCA guidelines (which the course would inform you of). Can I see an example? You sound like you believe what you are talking about so you should be able to show me something that is not because of regs, credit scoring or fraud.

Ok so when I said FCA controlled entities don’t check social media as a part of their financial screening and you said they do you were guessing. Got it :D

No I meant one has checked mine as I said but I can't prove that it's in connection with my section 75 claim or just a coincidence. Maybe they want my gifted intellectual input to a project they have in mind, you know in connection with recruitment that most people use LinkedIn for, but then again they've removed the trace they left so I'm more inclined to think it would be the former.
