Farcry 3 on offer on steam

I like how I can buy rocket launchers from a village hut but if I want a new bag I have to go skin a dozen animals for it.

I don't think it's a bad game however, from what little I've played I thought it was ok.

Maybe open world games just aren't for some of you guys. Personally I think it's great. They fixed many of the things people complained about in FC2

Nothing wrong with skinning animals to make things with out of their skins, better than going down a mine and mining for metal to make guns with while buying wallets from a shop :). I think the whole animal part of the game is great.

£5 is too cheap for a recent release, what else does that buy you these days? A gallon of petrol, one pair of socks. Well worth it even for £15

I get bored with games quite easily but this, along with MAFIA2, Alien VW Predator and the stalker series have kept me interested to the point of completing them or intending to complete.

Is it supposed to look like a cartoon? Im sure Farcry 1 looked better!

Hopefully if I play it more I will get over the graphics (maybe im just too used to playing Metro and Crysis 3)

hmm not a bad deal at all. I've got this on uplay but I hate uplay so much :(.
The steam version is just a shortcut link to Uplay...:(

the 1st FAR CRY looks awfall, it's flipping years old now, great game yes, mind you, there is an HD texture Version of it !!!!

Maybe I'm a little strange but I don't want ultra realistic graphics. I loved this game and thought the graphics were great. I have just bought Dishonored and the graphics are somewhat over colourful and cartoony but I prefer that. I want escapism not realism.

FFS.

Bought it last week for £29.99

At least I'm getting my moneys worth. After I got past the first half of multiplayer which was a bit of tutorial, I was thinking the depth of the game might put me off. Crafting, skills, side missions - I usually like direction in my SP games. But then I got hooked, and played it for about 6 hours straight yesterday.

The multiplayer would be great fun too, if it wasn't so unreliable.

For me this was one of the better games released last year, nice big open world to explore with a decent main story line and lots of varying side quests, the gunplay and other weaponary felt nice and solid.

I like the fact that you can just trek for miles ignoring the campaign and search for relics, take out base camps, climb radio towers etc, being able to hang glide over the island was another nice feature. Finished the main quest ages ago but I still go back in occasionally for a trek around and a bit more relic hunting. Very good game IMO, definitely worth the asking price in the Steam deal.

I completed this last weekend. Very enjoyable. Stuck 57 hours in and completed the story as well as liberating all radio towers and camps.

Graphics are good but not into Crysis' league. Still, very pretty in some places. Gameplay is fun at the core, although I wanted more of a reason to explore (it's not like Skyrim where you'll always get rewarded somehow).

Definitely a good buy for £30, so anything less is a plus.

Why does it take about 5 minutes to load after pressing play in uplay?

The loading things image thing just carries on spinning around from gun to other images. Does this happen for other people?

edit - I timed it and it takes 3 minutes 30 seconds to from pressing play to get to the first video. This cant be right can it?
