Farcry 4 Hurry up !!

Does anyone know why silent weapons still alert nearby enemies?

Silenced sniper rifles alerts enemies for some reason - even if you are a couple of hundred metres away, but I have used silenced assault rifles right next to enemies and not been detected. I think maybe they are alerted by the impact of the round in the floor, or scenery or the fact one of their comrades drops dead in their field of vision. But I don't know.

On a couple of outposts I cleared it with a silenced assault rifle - no alarms and no alerts from enemies. Very strange. On others I alerted them using the same weapon.

It's just Farcry 4 - it's weird and unique, if nothing else! lol :p

Well it's not a silenced pistol. Weapons don't have silencers, they have suppressors.

The sound is suppressed not silenced.

Pedantic post is pedantic! :p

But the mechanic definitely seems hit and miss (broken?) in FC4, as per my post above.

Sometimes I am detected by firing 'suppressed' (are ya happy now? :p) weapons, others I am not.

There does not really seem any rhyme or reason to it other than maybe an increase in AI intelligence as the game progresses or something. Certainly the northern Kyrat area has more badass enemies, perhaps they are also more intelligent too? But there is no getting away from the fact that sometimes suppressed weapons are noticed, sometimes not.

Actually when I think about it, I often have a sound bug after loading a game where my footsteps are either gone or very quiet. Also some of the map sounds (like setting a waypoint) are gone.

Perhaps it is just sound gremlins in the game?

Very good point.

It does seem to depend on whether other people are nearby, which I suppose makes sense.

I just got the autocross and also a signature weapon, but I can't remember the name, the Stinger or something. It's like a LMG, with a massive scope, huge magazine, and incredible accuracy and fire rate. It absolutely destroys everyone, I love it.

The auto cross is alos incredible! I'm playing without aim assist so the bow was sometimes a bit of a nightmare if I missed the first shot and then panicked.

I'm really enjoying this game, so far. I only have 7 main missions left to do (if I hadn't done side stuff too I'd have finished the campaign extremely quickly), but then I have lots more side missions to do.

I love this game it's amazing.

It got even better when I bought the AJM 9. Muhahahahahaha, now I feel like Robocop.

The bow is my prefered method of engagement, that thing is a beast.

I got about 40 odd hours out of it which is a lot of time for me to stick to a game. Loved all of it. I've since traded it in but might pick it up again at some point to re-play it.

I'm starting to get a bit bored of it now, even though it is a great game. I've got about 5 more main missions to do, and quite a few side missions, but I've done all of the outposts and stuff. I'll probably put a few more hours in and then sell.

Anyone noticed it can get a bit choppy when resuming a game on XBOX One? A proper restart of the console and its fine again.

Is this game worth sticking with? Played about 45mins but it's not drawing me in at all.

Bought this and dying light, tried this first got bored and moved on to dying light which is fantastic. Though nearly finished now so either going to trade them both in and get something else or stick with far cry.

Im in the same boat I bought the game this week it has moments of brilliance then it just becomes dull again, playing the Campaign missions are more fun than side mission. It does get better once you play over the hour 1-2 mark but still seems bit meh....not sure what it is but it does not draw me in like Far cry 2 did.

Have you tried coop ? Its fun unlocking fortresses and outposts with some one else, if you on PS4 and want to give it go add me: ironak

Did you play dead island by any chance as i'm planing on getting Dying light and really enjoyed dead island.

Not played dead island but dying light is a lot of fun and worth picking up.

Yea I'll add you when I'm next on. Some games you have to grind the first few hours till you get to the good part. Saying that I'm not a fan of ubisoft games, seem to have the exact same problem with all their games. Watchdogs played an hour, got bored never played again. Same again with two assassin creed games, black flag and another one. Just can't get into them.

I'm six missions from the end and have only really enjoyed 3 missions. What's with the stinking controls...the healing is so long winded when you run out injections, it takes way to long to heal and does very little.

£8 on xbox one for gold members, took a punt, it seems to be a marmite game. I found 3 great in parts but got really irritated with some aspects of the human enemy A.I and give up.

Is the general consensus that it's better then 3?

Just couldn't resist it for £8 just to test the jumpsuit out :)

I wouldn't personally say 4 is better than 3, they're pretty similar.

Both are leagues ahead of 2 though, which was a bit of a **** imo.
