Farming Simulator 15

Anyone here play this?

This is a great mod map http://fs-uk.com/mods/view/35795/coldborough-farm-2015

Yeah, loaded that up at the weekend. It's a cracking British map. The only negative (though entirely subjective) is that it seems you have to load your stored crops manually as there is no auger. Obviously that's a pain if you're waiting for better prices or great demands.

Knuston Farm is another good British map.

One issue I've got with custom maps is there is a odd "slippery" parts of fields, where even on the slightest slopes tractors doing things such as cultivating or ploughing refuse to go straight, but if you turn around and do it the other way (even on a side-slope), it works fine. I've downloaded a Hagenstedt reloaded map (the FS13 map converted and tweaked for FS15) and it works as it should, so it's just custom maps. Never had this on FS13 either, so it must be related to the new physics.

I'm still enjoying FS15 though. I thought I would have got bored of it by now as I normally do (farming sims by their nature are repetitive after all) but I'm starting to get into dairy and the variation it brings, so all good. It's a good play this while listening to the football on the radio at the weekend too.

Knuston is another good map but it does suffer a bit from fps drops.

Having some British maps has given me some new interest in this game.

Also joined in a few MP games as well

You should use Drive Control mod helps with traction as you can select all-wheel & differential locks.

What's wrong with you people? Goat Simulator I totally get, but farming? I'd rather play 'County Council Tax Office Slightly Balding Junior Accountant Slowly Making His Was To The Cafeteria To Eat His Packed Lunch Simulator'. Hell yeah.

Bloody amazing what people are doing with the real farm maps. Those road networks alone just impress the heck.

Glad to see it doing so well, community generates traction, fantastic.

Just got this in the steam sale and so far seems good fun when having a break from bf4.

I am a bit cheesed off by the fact you have buy another copy for dedicated server :(

I'll be getting the JCB DLC looks great, has renewed my interest in the game.

Coldborough Park 2015 does look good, some nice improvements and additions.

Thistle Farm is a nice map too.

Anyone interested in a multiplayer game when Coldborough Park 2015 is out?

Coldborough Park Farm 2015 has been released. :)

I still sruggle remembering the order: get the crops, fertilize etc, plant them again. halp!

You can fertilize any time after you have harvested, though I think with some of the mod maps you need to plough in the fertilizer for it to work (though I think just for certain fertilizers, perhaps lime or solid manure).

A bit of a bump to say that the mod contest 2015 entries were released on Monday.

While most are OK, the standouts for me are:
  • Skidsteer Pack and the associated Hard Point Extension mod, which allows for vehicle customisation in the workshop, and is extremely promising if future mods take advantage, and hopefully something Giants introduce in Farm Sim 17.
  • McHale Fusion 2 and the Krone Ultima CF 155 XC balers.
  • And it's good to see a couple of decent Massey Ferguson's too, the 7726 and the old 698.
  • I like the Marshall trailers too, which are more relevant to what we see up here rather than the ones Giants released as a mod.

The Real Terrain mod adds a good level of detail to whatever ground is being driven over, so that the wheels react differently to ploughed, cultivated and sown ground. It does seem to have issues with game crashes when certain tractors disconnect implements, but it worked fine with the mods and the in-game tractors when I tested it. Hopefully OEB will release and update for it though.

I've not tested any of the maps which use multiple mods yet (something for tonight or the weekend), but the standard maps in the contest didn't do much for me. Still Coldborough Park Farm is the best map I've seen so far, though I took a drive around Gamsting at the weekend and it's a really tidy, well made map with lots of character.
