farther day

i'm not particularly happy about it, but im not getting him anything. Last time i spoke to him was before christmas, when he phoned me to ask me what a wanted for x-mas. I only wanted a card, and I didnt even get that.

god damn these marketing ploys of the year, just as crap as valentines day.
 
Getting him nothing! He always says that Fathers (not farther) Day is just a made up Politically Correct Mothers Day.

IIRC Fathers' day is Sunday 18th June

It's the 14th June today.

Anyway now we've cleared that up i got my dad some clothes for our summer holiday, i just hope they fit and he likes em! :D

Hes said he wants one of the old danger man series boxsets, but where the bleep can you get them from? Even HMV dont do them.
 
Things I got my dad for fathers day in the years before he passed away were a mobile phone, a fire extinguisher and video's of his old regiment on parade.
 
My dads asked for one of the old danger man DVDs, but theres only one place i town i can think of that might have them, fingers crossed they do haev them.
 
Mine isnt talking to me, hasnt been for nearly 2 months, so I dont know what to do. He (and my mum) have hurt me terribly by taking the stance they have and I really dont want to make contact. But thats childish isnt it :(
 
Couldnt think of anything worth getting him, so gone for an all in one LCD pc thing

He's been moaning for a while that he doesnt have a pc to use at home other than cluttered company laptops, this will hopefully sort the situation out.
 
As a father of two boys (31 and 33) the eldest of which didn't speak to me for something like 12 yrs ...... I would just like to say to all of you who seem to dislike/have issues with dad .....

Send a card anyway .......... it may or may not make the difference but what's a couple of quid, when it might just change things.

I know quite a few people who have had "issues" and left it too late ..... and regretted their inaction after Pa has departed this world .... yeah, sometimes we (dads) are ****s but we are only human, with many failings, just like you .....

be bigger than them and make the effort .......................... please :)
