Fast OS/boot drive that isn't a Crucial C300?

So, I recently bought a Crucial 64GB SSD to go along with my current 128GB Kingston as it's a fair amount faster, and I am also running out of space a little on the Kingston (Damn Steam!). My plan was to put the O/S (Windows 7), Chrome, Open Office etc on the small drive, then put Steam on the Kingston (though having found out about this I'll probably put the odd Steam game on the small drive too).

Anyway, as I wrote in this thread, my SATA III ports/controller don't get on with the Crucial, which means I'd have to stick with SATA II, and frankly for the money there are better SATA II drives (OCZ Vertex 2E, Corsair Force F60 etc). So the C300 is going back to OcUK, to be replaced with something else - recommendations? I'm not against other interfaces besides SATA, but I'm not going with SATA III or a SATA III controller. I have a spare PCI-E 2.0 slot on my motherboard too.

Budget is around £100, unless a 50GB Revodrive really is that much better...

What have you?!?

Because if I can't use SATAIII I may as well have the Vertex 2 or Corsair Force for the same money but with better write performance...

I've arranged an RMA (under DSR) with OcUK for the Crucial drive, but have ordered a Highpoint Rocket 620 - as I'd still like the SATA III if possible...

Would you even notice the high writes on sandforce compared to crucial? on day to day basis? what apps do you run that would benefit from high writes?

I will probably have exactly the same issue, as I'm receiving a P6X58D-E with a Crucial 64GB Sata III. I really wanted to use those two Sata 6gbs ports. I just hope that this is just a isolated case.

Probably not - I can't find many with the issue, and the C300 is quite popular, especially among X58 owners.
