I'm looking to set up some fast storage space for two workstations, will be compositing 4k footage and gpu rendering/streaming texture data which gets quickly bottlenecked on a 1gb lan.
Not sure if I need a switch or not, would it be possible to get a nas with dual 10gbe connections and just use one cable to each workstation, or would it be better to go with a switch?
Can anyone recommend a reasonable nas for the job? Would like to have an nvme 2Tb drive as a current project storage, and multiple larger hard drives for raid/archiving. It would be great to find something which is fairly quiet as well.
