Fastest 939 CPU for MSI K8N?

FX-60
The X2 4800+ or Opteron 180 are the next best bet.

All would be better than the 3000+ (Is it overclocked at all?)
Haven't seen prices of late but for a while the 939 dual cores were going up quite rapidly in price.

I wouldn't go 939 now, see if you can find an AM2 or 775 (watch the age) platform 2nd hand. :)

cripes, I had no idea they would be so expensive...ho hum :(

problem I have is I'm buying a mobo like my current one to try and help make saving my RAID setup as easy as possible - not only that it's a cheap option, I was hopeful a decent CPU would be ~£50 tops...nevermind.
 
Im afraid not. IMHO the best 939 cpu was the opteron 185 and I had one, it was an awesome chip in its day. I sold mine a month ago for £150 on the famous auction site. Cheap dual core 939's dont happen unless your extremely lucky!!
 
most single core

Most the socket 939 you will find these days are single core. I think I have a 3500+ & 3700+ single core AMD socket 939 chips sitting in a draw at home....cba to stick them on a not so famous auction site...
