Fastest Pursuit Car ?

Whilst watching a replay of road wars the other day, we got into a discussion about what would be the fastest car to have as a police pursuit vehicle

its obviously got to available in large numbers, and cost effective. So that rules out a Ferrari 430 or whatever.

My bet would be an evo 9 FQ350.

Cant think of much that would be better at chasing chavs round council estates

any advances ?

surrey police used to have an esprit V8 but decomm'd it because it cost them too much to maintain.

Whereas I much prefer the Evo, i'd say the Subaru Impreza STI, purely because its cheaper to buy and run and only marginally (and arguably) slower

Not a fan of audi but i would agree on an Rs6 or the 4,the new one with the V10 upfront.....i would break the law just to see the thing :rolleyes:

I like the 530d the police use up here,chav flies through roundabout about 50mph in a 30mph zone,police waiting see him.....lights on foot down and they get him by the next roundabout lol.

A few forces use Evos, but they're never out of the garage because of the service intervals.

Impreza STi with PPP would be more practical.

All too slow and can't go off-road you need a quick 4x4, much like the erm, Cayenne Turbo S - 0-60 in 4.9 seconds 167mph and will go round corners and offroad, bit expensive like!

I would probably go for an M5 or RS6.

Subaru or an Evo sounds good to me, but it would need a bit more than standard ground clearance as said above.

I remember hearing years ago that a few police forces got Sierra Cosworths (might have been the Sapphire) when they first came out, but they didn't have them for long as the drivers couldn't handle the power - kept putting them in ditches!
