Fat...?

She was the only "plus size" (and I hate that terminology) that entered the competition. So she did well to win.

Personally I don't see a problem with the woman. I wouldn't kick her out of bed and I sure as hell don't see "rolls of fat" as some posters have said.

maybe my standards are high, but she wouldnt get anywhere near my bed let alone close enough that I'd have to kick her out :s there is nothing wrong with having pride in a reasonable physique, and everything wrong with caring so little about yourself that you get to this kind of size. I know, ive been overweight and i didnt expect anyone to have sympathy for me if someone called me fat!

Fair enough. I wouldn't say she was 'fat', more 'big' or 'tubby', but then they are all terms that are quite subjective. Whatever she is, she represents far more women in the UK than most high street models, she is sporting lingerie sold by the shop in question specifically for women of those dimensions and the photographs are tasteful. I see no problem!

I do! We have heard for years that stick thin women models are a dangerous thing for society due to women having unrealistic expectations of what they should look like/becoming anorexic e.t.c

Then, when the news is constantly going on about a dangerous increase in the amount of people in this country being overweight, we now have overweight models.

i'd say a 12 is a more average kind of size than 16!! 16 is positively big.

There is no way in hell size 12 is average.

You're essentially screwed if you're a woman. You either have to torture yourself to attempt to get to the super-skinny size 0 (or size 4) that womens magazines promote or if you dare even have an ounce of extra fat you are labled fat.

Ironically probably by a man who isn't in peak shape himself.

There's levels of being large. The girl in the OP is just fat, where-as the girl on the right here:

I could quite happily bone.

is she really though?

14 to 16 is the UK average (from a few quick google searches).

She isn't fat, she's "Chubby" - fat is waddling, unable to move.

I'm scale is like this.

Rag & Bones -> Skinny -> Thin -> Slim -> Average <- Curvy <- Chubby <- Fat <- Huge monster.

Most people in the UK are between slim & chubby.

Not really, a balanced diet and some exercise for men or women will keep them in a decent shape. Problem comes is when you eat cakes and sit around watching TV every evening.

Indeed it does but that is not the image that media insists a woman should conform to an hence the massive rise in childhood eating disorders.

I think if she is happy then let her be. Personally I don't really have a problem with her size.

Some of the comments in here are simply lolworthy. Go for a photoshoot in your best undies trying to strike a sexy pose and let women comment on your body. Because by the sounds of some you lot you are certainly what most 'women' would find attractive or hot

I can't, my knees are too pointy.

I guess we all mark "fat" at a different level.

Fat to me involves them having rolls (Rosie O'Donnell style fat - not just a bit of a gut).

You're missing the point that what you or I might find attractive, isn't necessarily determined by one's own physical attractiveness.

Some men are ugly but attract women with their character, confidence, wallet, or willy. You choose the medium of the knitted sweater for example.
