Father's Day

Obvious answer is mother's day has been around for a lot longer than father's day. More import question is why the hell they spend an entire day making cards for either.

Do you feel badly in need of a father's day card? I can post you any I get if you like

my father always goes on about how there is so much advertising for mothers day, but none for fathers fathers day

i tell him that if he stopped complaining and worked as hard as my mother - wed celebrate him just as much :p

I dont get it with any of these designated "days" TBH. Thankfully neither does my fam!

Brilliant £ maker for the card industry though!

A better surprise for your folks would be getting them something on a totally random day. The impact will be much greater and they will appreciate it even more :)

yeah went into Greggs on Mothers day, got my wife a nice cupcake in a box, with a bit to write her name on, see through front, all very nice.

went in yesterday to get something for fathers day and walla !!! nothing

but in saying that, i am a father myself, and i am sitting here at 3am bursting with excitement, at the thought of opening my 'pressies' and breakfast in bed.

some socks/pants and a packet of digestives sitting there from Friday night

My girl gave me a card, a big cuddle and some kisses. Thats all I need - The best thing is just having her there in the first place. The card is the least important part.

Surprise weekend in Centre Parcs, breakfast in bed and a nice card and chocs from my daughter.....it's even sunny this morning, so really looking forward to the day.

I didn't buy my dad anything :( First of all, I got exams, and haven't gone out in ages. Apart from that, my dad has everything he needs. Like EVERYTHING. We ask what he wants, and he always says nothing. And he is not being shy or something, because like 1 a year (for birthday, or christmas or something) he does tell us.

Today, he told us he wants a cheap-ish plastic watch for work, so he doesn't ruin his better, more expensive watches. I'll get him that when I finish exams :)

Why is that for mother's day the schools have all the kids making lovely cards and gifts for mum whereas sod all is done for father's day ?

****** me right off

simple answer for around here. 90-95% of the kids know who their mum is, 50-60% know who their dads are, and probs only 30-50% of those keep in contact with them regularly. so would have half the school sitting around doing nothing

My misses went off to some car boot at 6 leaving me with all 3 children, great!

She got a nice lie in and brekkie on mothers day, I get a screaming baby and poop lol!
