Faulty Crysis Disk

Im so annoyed. Got this delivered today, and the disk wont even spin up with the disk in any DVD drive. Anyone had similar problems? It keeps trying to read it, but wont.

Trying not to state the obvious, but have you tried other DVD's in the drive too?

Yes. tried 3 drives, both the same type, and another just a rom on a different pc.

any marks on the disc? any offending programs that are common to both pcs? (ie, daemon tools, any program that can mount iso's as a drive)?

Well, it seems that it doesnt read on my Samsung SATA drives, or an a Generic DVD-ROM in my server, but in another drive on an XP machine ive just built it works fine. Hmm. Gonna take an image and burn a new disk. Assuming that i can.

Well I've just installed mine (could the postman be any slower today!), and it installed without a hitch.

Just updated the firware for both my Samsung drives and neither of them will read the disk. It spins up, then down, then seeks across the whole thing, then makes dodgy noises and repeats. Light flashing like mad every time. Looks like there something wrong, so its getting sent back. I even left the disk in while windows rebooted and it stopped windows from starting. Is the drive you are using a Samsung SH-S183L? Sata.

Same here - it sounds like the drive in my machine is dieing, when in fact it's perfectly fine.

Mine made nasty clciking sounds the first time I put it in but is ok and installed fine. I think the workmanship on the media is a bit sloppy.

I have a Samsung SH-S203N, has anyone else tried it on this drive ?

I haven't got my copy yet, but it's en-route.

i had this problem with ET:QW, my older pioneer slot drive wont read it but my newer dvd writer drive has no problem.

Just to throw something into the discussion; do you reckon this could be something to do with some kind of copy protection that's gone too far?

Both the special edition today came back home just like 10 minutes a go tried to installing the game dvd rom made some strange sound "cling cling" and i noticed the disc did not spin but other discs crysis music and extras work fine. wtf like :confused:

if anyone knows how to fix this problem come forward plz.

Doesnt even read the disk in my case.

wouldnt install on my Samsung SH-S203B drive

had to put my old nec dvd r/w drive to get it to install

What drive have you got ?

If you have managed to successfully or unsuccessfully install it, can every one say so, and also what drive they have, please, it may just be a samsung problem.
