My drive does the clicking thing aswell when i put the Disc in, and it's not Samsung. It does nothing for some time, but just leave it in there and it ends up working... (for me anyway)

+1 Got the special edition, same thing with my Samsung SH-S203NBEBN.

Phew, that's a relief. Installing atm.

That's strange, is your scanner on ? If it isn't then switch it on, see if it works then.

Have you tried disconnecting it and removing it altogether ?

You need to open it from explorer, it will work fine then.

mine works without any issues with my Asus SATA DVD-RW.

i'm guessing its a Secu-Rom thing.

Sorted. Removed the software for the printer and its worked fine with my sony drive

Mine kept making funny noises when I first put it in. Then after a sec it started working normal.

Wouldnt be the clicking noisethat a lot of people including myself seem to have is it monkeymike? My disc works fine apart from that.

Yup, mine does the grinding noise too then goes fine.

I've not got any collector's edition or anything, just the vanilla one.

Mine too is the vanilla version so its definitely not version specific.

Fixed my problem, disconnected one of my 2 DVD drives and just ran on the Pioneer instead and Crysis has installed.

If anyone else is having the same probelm and has two DVD drives have a go disconnected one.
