Hi,

I purchased a 42" led lg tv from Argos around 2 months ago.

Its started to show dead pixels on the screen just recently.

I called Argos and explained the situation and the lady on the phone said I could go in store and get it replaced for a new TV today. Great I thought. lol

So I went into the store today and explained what the problem is and what customer services said. Handed over my order number and reference number. He goes off and comes back saying he wont replace the TV because its my fault the dead pixels are there.

I tried to explain but he wouldnt listen to me lol.

Is there anything I can do to get a replacement? Should I contact LG?

Unsure what I should do here as I thought dead/stuck pixels are not a problem unless there is 10 or more for LG to do anything?

Any help would be great :)

Cheers.

They are usually fairly no quibble on returns, try another store.

I dont think they will replace it mate. Ive called customer services and they even said its not to be replaced.

Unsure why because it was them who gave the go ahead for it to be replaced in the first place lol.

Lesson for future - find TV you want, go to John Lewis and get a price match, get 5 year warranty and get much better after sales support.

I'd still not let that rest if what you are saying is legit (ie the tv is not damaged in some other way). How old are you? Take someone else with you, research the sales of goods act and quote them. Ask the manager to ring head office too and speak with them whilst he is there. Make him put it in writing as to why he wont replace it etc.

Print of argos returns policy, quote it to him.

If all else fails smash the tv over his head and poo in the letterbox.

or buy it from Currys.
Youngest daughter had the same problem and they just swapped it.
However, I still can't see why you can't get it replaced.

This seems like a good idea. Plus it might be a different Manager the next time you go in.

If all else fails make sure to email Argos. They won't tolerate bad publicity of any kind and most companies like to please customers to shut them up.

I never buy from Argos even though I'm tempted on occasion.

OP I don't think there's a lot you can do with out a lot of hassle.

On the other hand, the onus is on the store to prove the fault wasn't inherent.

Some people are just *****. Won't affect the Manager whatsoever, he's just going out of his way to be a ****.

Ask for his name and what not when you go back. Mention him in the email. They probably won't do anything but it might spook him a little.
