Why as others have said you need to have a certain number of dead pixels or a cluster for them to replace under warranty. It's not the managers fault it's the guidelines set by the manufacturer. LG for instance also include tint in their TV'S warranty policy. But if the manager claims it was due to m8shandling the TV then he should have asked for evidence.

Except, of course, the manager was a total moron and refused the refund because the problem was, he believed, caused by something OP did. nothing to do with number of pixels.

So, whilst it might not be the manager's fault that 4 dead pixels are within spec, the manager totally lucked into making the right call on not issuing a refund.

Surely it depends on if a pixel is dead or stuck.

A stuck green one in the centre of the TV is a lot worse than a dead black pixel.

Read the warranty on the TV. On LG's website.

it not faulty- problem solved

Dead Pixel not exceeding 7 dots is within factory specification and is not considered a defect under this warranty
DOES NOT COVER MINOR IMPERFECTIONS IN PRODUCTS THAT MEET DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS OR IMPERFECTIONS THAT DO NOT MATERIALLY ALTER FUNCTIONALITY. WE MAKE NO SATISFACTION GUARANTEES, PERFORMANCE GUARANTEES

caps from the website cba to retype but HTH

If they have rejected a claim due to damage caused by you then it is up to them to prove that you caused the damage as the TV is under 6 months old. The manager just saying you did is not considered evidence.

Did you pay on a credit card ?

Remember that anything LG say is in addition to your statutory rights. They may say you need to have 7 dead pixels for THEM to do anything under warranty. But your contract is with the retailer so argue it affects your enjoyment of using the device as intended and quote the sale of goods act in any correspondence.

just buy a new one from them, give it a few days then take the faulty one (or not so faulty ) back with the new receipt at a different shop, you will have the 28? days change of mind that they offer

not the correct way of doing things but the easiest

Rest of the story?

Obviously I carried the TV into the store so there was a couple of finger marks on the display but thats it. He pointed them out and I said they were from carrying the TV.

I tried explaining about dead pixels etc but he wouldnt replace it and claimed it was my wrong doing.

It is a shame that you didn't have the original manufacturer's box in which to repack it, as the TV wouldn't then have been finger marked, and it would have given the impression that you were a careful sort of chap, who had looked after it carefully... not that I am saying you hadn't!

Hindsight is, of course, a wonderful thing!
