Faulty XFX Geforce 7900 GTX / No help from XFX

Hi all,

I'm convinced I've got a faulty GFX. Sent them an e-mail on Wedesday and no response. Created a ticket on their helpdesk page and the last response I had from XFX's technicians was Friday afteroon. Their response was to try the usual uninstall/reinstall lark which I had already tried. Still no new info from them and I want to RMA it and get a replacement. I don't seem to be getting anywhere

Also I've noticed OCuk no longer have this graphics card listed on their webby?

I need help :mad:

I am sorry to hear that. I am waiting on my 7900gtx which is xfx brand as well. Although i got it through a different retailer.

I hope you do sort it out.
 
Having problems with an XFX 7900GT too. Problems started occuring after 3 weeks. Fortunately I can still return it back to the retailer and won't have to deal with XFX directly - which is probably a good thing from the sound of it.
 
i have 2 x XFX 7800GTX XXX on an ram via OC been 6weeks now and still no replacments :(

xfx say they will/have credit the cards but OC still not had anything back from xfx - its a waiting game.

even phone xfx direct and there not really intrested there support imho is not great.

oc have agreed to swap them over for new and better cards just need to wait imho dont think ill buy another XFX considering there after sales support

I've had it 6 weeks and im 99% positive it's a defect. I've been around for too long to not know when a gfx is caput.

I Borrowed my mates 7800gtx (XFX) today so going to put it in my system tonight. If it works fine I know XFX owe me a new one.

It's my second XFX card but it will be my last. I've had one response since last Wednesday. Pretty stumped what to do now. :mad:
 
Well from reading all the reports I will only accept it working. If that does not happen to be the case I am not going to play cat and mouse.

Then I will either try the 7950 or the ati x1900xtx.

AFAIK the 7950 doesn't seem to have these defect issues just a case of getting decent drivers for it.

And I have seen less x1900xtx defect posts although there will be some, although not on the scale of the 7900gt/gtx versions.

Or if I get peeved by it all I might just stick with my 7800gt and sink the money into a second pc setup or water cooling for this existing one.

Anyway please keep me updated how it all works out for you lot.
 
Fixed it!!

Went to put my mates 7800 gtx in and noticed that the 4 pin molex connector on my mobo is so close to my 7900 that the cable had come out!

Plugged it in and guess what, no problems!!

Hopefully i'm lucky and have got a card that will show no problems int he future.

XFX customer service still sux0rs :]
